School scraps Taliban debate

Arlington, Va. -- A Virginia school said a mock United Nations project involving students representing the views of the Taliban has been canceled following complaints.

Principal Chrystal Forrester of Swanson Middle School and two teachers from the Arlington school signed an e-mail to parents that said the scrapped project was "clearly a bad choice for a debate topic," The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
