MLB: Arizona 7, Colorado 5

Phoenix, Sept. 19: Home runs by Brandon Allen and Ryan Roberts Friday helped rally Arizona to a 7-5 victory over Colorado.
The Rockies built a 4-1 lead through three innings before faltering in the seventh game of a nine-game road trip. Colorado, which began the night 3 1/2 games in front of San Francisco in the National League wild-card race, has a 2-5 record on the trip.

Arizona tied it with a three-run fourth, two of the scores coming on Allen's fourth home run of the season.

A two-run double by Gerardo Parra gave the Diamondbacks the lead in the seventh and Roberts hit a solo homer in the eighth.

Leo Rosales (2-1) got the victory as the third Arizona pitcher of the night. He worked a perfect seventh inning and Juan Gutierrez survived a shaky ninth for his sixth save. Gutierrez allowed a run and had two men on base before retiring the final three batters of the inning to end the game.

MLB: Arizona 4, Los Angeles Dodgers 3

Phoenix, Sept. 10: Ramon Troncoso made an error in the ninth Wednesday and then walked Mark Reynolds with the bases loaded to give Arizona a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The unearned run in the ninth halted the Los Angeles winning streak at two games and allowed Colorado to creep within 2 1/2 games of the first-place Dodgers in the National League West.

Troncoso (4-3), usually called on in middle relief, was sent out in the ninth to try to get the game into extra innings. He put himself in instant trouble, however, when he threw wildly to first after fielding a grounder off the bat of Gerardo Parra.

MLB: Arizona 14, Houston 7

Phoenix, Aug. 29: Alex Romero finished off a seven-run third inning with a three-run homer Friday to send Arizona coasting to a 14-7 win over Houston.

Romero's home run was the first of the year for Romero and the second of his major-league career. He has spent most of this season with Class AAA Reno.

The Diamondbacks pounded out 16 hits in the slugfest.

Arizona sent 11 men to the plate in its big third inning, and the first seven reached base.

Ryan Roberts opened the inning with a walk off Yorman Bazardo (0-1), went to second on a single by Justin Upton and scored on a base hit by Mark Reynolds.

Miguel Montero then doubled home Upton, and Gerardo Parra's double drove in Reynolds and Montero.

MLB: Arizona 6, New York Mets 2

Phoenix, Aug. 12: Gerardo Parra and Alex Romero had two RBI each and Max Scherzer struck out eight in Arizona's 6-2 win over the struggling New York Mets Tuesday.

Scherzer (7-6) notched the win with 6 2/3 innings in which he allowed two runs on eight hits and fanned eight.

Jeff Francoeur had a leadoff home run in the second inning for the Mets, who lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games.

Livan Hernandez (7-7) lasted only four innings in the start, giving up five runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out five.

Francoeur's homer tied the game 1-1 but the Diamondbacks scored three times in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Romero had a two-run single in the frame.

MLB: Arizona 6, Pittsburgh 0

Pittsburgh, Aug. 4: Yusmeiro Petit took a no-hitter into the eighth inning Tuesday to spark the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 6-0 win over Pittsburgh.

Petit (2-5) allowed only one hit, a single by Ronny Cedeno, in eight innings. The right-hander was bidding to become the first Diamondbacks pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Randy Johnson threw a perfect game May 18, 2004, against Atlanta.

The 24-year-old Venezuelan earned his first win of the season in his previous start when he gave up four hits in six scoreless innings against Philadelphia.

MLB: Philadelphia 4, Arizona 3

Phoenix, July 29: Cole Hamels struck out nine batters in eight innings Tuesday to get the win in Philadelphia's 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Hamels (7-5) held the Diamondbacks to one run on four hits and did not walk a batter in the Phillies' 19th win this month.

Shane Victorino led the offense with three hits, including a solo home run.

Dan Haren (10-6) took his second loss in his last eight decisions by surrendering three runs -- two earned -- on four hits over five innings.

Mark Reynolds made the game interesting with a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to pull the home team to within a run.

MLB: Arizona 9, Pittsburgh 0
