MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Pittsburgh 4 (13 inn.)

Los Angeles, Sept. 16: Andre Ethier hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 13th Tuesday to rally the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ethier delivered his sixth walk-off hit of the year with the Dodgers trailing 4-3 after Pittsburgh had scored in the top of the inning on a single by Ryan Doumit to take the lead.

The homer was Ethier's 30th of the season and hung Phil Dumatrait (0-1) with the loss.

Ethier had sent the game into extra innings in the bottom of the ninth when he doubled and then came home on a two-out single by Matt Kemp.

Ronald Belisario (4-3) was credited with the win.

The outcome spoiled a solid start by Pittsburgh's Zach Duke, who held Los Angeles to four hits in 7 2/3 innings.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 4, Arizona 3

Los Angeles, Sept. 2: A bases-loaded walk to Andre Ethier brought in the eventual winning run Tuesday in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 4-3 victory over Arizona.

Ethier was the third player walked by Leo Rosales (1-1) in the seventh inning, which also included a double by Rafael Furcal.

Matt Kemp had a solo home run for Los Angeles, who won for the fifth time in its last seven games and leads the National League West by 5 ½ games.

Arizona's Justin Upton had three hits and extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Ronald Belisario (3-3) got the win in relief of Vicente Padilla. Jonathan Broxton picked up his 30th save.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 7, Chicago Cubs 2

Los Angeles, Aug. 21: Russell Martin snapped a tie by launching a grand slam homer in the sixth inning Thursday, bringing the Los Angeles Dodgers a 7-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.

The Dodgers held onto their 3 ½-game lead over Colorado in the National League West and the Cubs slipped a distant seven games behind St. Louis in the NL Central.

The teams battled to a 2-2 deadlock through five, but things unraveled quickly for the Cubs in the sixth with Angel Guzman (2-3) on the mound for his first inning of work.

Manny Ramirez opened the inning with a single and moved to second on a single to shallow center by Casey Blake. The runners moved up on a sacrifice by Orlando Hudson and James Loney drew an intentional walk to load the bases.

MLB: San Diego 7, Los Angeles Dodgers 4

San Diego, July 4: Everth Cabrera's two hits and three RBI Saturday led the San Diego Padres to a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cabrera's bases-loaded two-run single gave San Diego a 3-2 lead with one out in the bottom of the seventh. He added an RBI single in the eighth, San Diego's second three-run inning of the game.

David Eckstein hit two RBI singles. Adrian Gonzalez had two hits and one RBI and a run scored on Casey Blake's eighth-inning throwing error to help the Padres break a three-game losing streak.

The winner was reliever Greg Burke (1-0).

MLB: LA Dodgers 1, Arizona 0

Los Angeles -- Chad Billingsley teamed with three relievers on a seven-hit shutout Wednesday, allowing the Los Angeles Dodgers to edge Arizona 1-0.

Billingsley (7-3) opened the season with five straight victories before dropping two out of three.

He got back in the groove against the Diamondbacks by holding them to four hits and striking out nine over six innings.

Ronald Belisario gave up a two-out single in the seventh and Ramon Troncoso escaped trouble in the eighth when Miguel Montero grounded into an inning-ending double play with runners on first and third.

Jonathan Broxton worked a perfect ninth for his 13th save.

Los Angeles won its second in a row and improved to 25-9 against opponents from its own division.
