MLB: Kansas City 2, Chicago White Sox 1

Chicago, Sept. 20 -- Robinson Tejeda and two relievers combined on a six-hitter Sunday, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 2-1 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Tejada (4-1) surrendered a run and three hits in six innings with two walks and five strikeouts in 104 pitches.

Roman Colon gave up two hits in 1 1/3 innings while closer Joakim Soria gave up a hit in 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 26th save.

Mitch Maier hit third-inning RBI single for Kansas City. A run scored on Freddy Garcia's wild pitch in the first, while Willie Bloomquist had two of the five hits for the Royals, who won twice in the three-game series.

MLB: Kansas City 11, Detroit 1

Detroit, Sept. 15: Alberto Callaspo, Miguel Olivo and David DeJesus each hit a three-run homer Tuesday to power Kansas City in an 11-1 rout of Detroit.

Callaspo also added a sacrifice fly, as the Royals won for the seventh time in eight games. Robinson Tejeda (3-1) made his third start of the season and allowed just one run on two hits and four walks in five innings.

Carlos Guillen had an RBI single.

The Tigers had only four hits in their sixth loss in eight games. The defeat narrows their division lead over Minnesota to five games.

Jarrod Washburn (9-9) lasted only one inning, giving up four runs, three hits and two walks.

MLB: Kansas City 5, Detroit 1

Kansas City, Mo. Sept. 10: Billy Butler had three doubles and drove in a run apiece with two of them Wednesday in leading the Kansas City Royals to a 5-1 win over Detroit.

Robinson Tejeda (2-1) struck out eight in throwing six shutout innings. It was Tejada's second start in place of the ailing Gil Meche and Tejada ran his scoreless streak to 11 1/3 innings.

Kansas City has won three in a row for the first time since July 4-6. Detroit has dropped two straight and saw its lead in the American League Central reduced to 5 1/2 games over Minnesota.

Butler scored the game's first run on a single by Mike Jacobs in the third and the lead remained 1-0 until Butler's first RBI double in the seventh.

MLB: Baltimore 7, Kansas City 3

Baltimore, July 29: Adam Jones and Nick Markakis both had three RBI Wednesday, powering Baltimore to just its second win in nine games -- a 7-3 decision over Kansas City.

Jones hit a two-run shot in the first inning, his third homer in as many games, but the Orioles faced a 3-2 deficit going into the seventh.

After Cesar Izturis and Brian Roberts walked off reliever Robinson Tejeda (1-1) to start the seventh, Jones doubled home Izturis to forge a 3-3 tie.

A single by Markakis delivered both Roberts and Jones for a 5-3 advantage.

Markakis added a run-scoring single during Baltimore's two-run eighth.

MLB: Kansas City 5, Baltimore 3

Baltimore, July 27: Billy Butler had five hits, including two doubles, and three RBI Monday to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Mark Teahen added two hits and an RBI for the Royals.

Royals starter Bruce Chen gave up three runs in five innings. Winner Robinson Tejeda (1-0) pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit, in relief and Joakim Soria worked the ninth for his 16th save.

Orioles starter Rich Hill was pulled after 2 1/3 innings. He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks.

Brian Bass followed with 3 1/3 frames of scoreless relief, but Matt Albers (1-4) allowed the go-ahead run and took the loss.

MLB: LA Angels 10, Kansas City 2

Kansas City, Mo. July 22: Eric Aybar had four hits and three RBI to key the Los Angeles Angels' 10-2 win in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep in Kansas City.

Aybar, who had three hits and scored three runs in the opener, raised his batting average .016 to .315 for the season.

Rookie Sean O'Sullivan (3-0) allowed two runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Los Angeles is 5-0 in games O'Sullivan has started.

Bruce Chen (0-5) gave up three runs on seven hits in five innings for the Royals, who have lost eight consecutive games and gave up seven runs in the top of the seventh Tuesday.
