Seal aids aquarium proposal

Boston -- A New Hampshire man says he proposed to his girlfriend at Boston's New England Aquarium with the help of a ring-carrying seal.

Steve Johnson, 24, said he took his girlfriend, Laura Fuller, to the aquarium Saturday to participate in the Training for a Day program as a surprise for her 23rd birthday, The Boston Globe reported Wednesday.

Johnson said he conspired weeks ahead of time with marine mammal trainer Lindsay Jones to have Fuller shown a painting created by a seal named Reggae followed by the revealing of a sign behind asking for Fuller's hand in marriage.

While Fuller was reading the message she was approached by a seal named Chacoda, who was carrying a chain with a toy ring in his mouth.

Chuck E. Cheese toys recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Chuck E. Cheese Light-up Rings and Star Glasses due to an ingestion hazard.

About 1.1 million Light-up Rings and 120,000 Star Glasses were imported from China by CEC Entertainment Inc. of Irving, Texas, and distributed as part of parent-teacher conferences and as part of birthday packages. The Light-up Rings were also sold at Chuck E. Cheese Restaurants from April 2009 through June 2010, while the Star Glasses were sold, also at Chuck E. Cheese, from April 2010 through August 2010.

The commission said the plastic casing can break, exposing batteries that are harmful if ingested.
