Los Angeles -- Redmond O'Neal has completed a program at a drug rehab facility in Los Angeles and is moving into a sober living environment, People.com said Wednesday.
O'Neal, 25, is the son of the late actress Farrah Fawcett and her longtime partner, actor Ryan O'Neal. The younger O'Neal's court-ordered drug rehab stay came after he was arrested for drug offenses in January 2008 and subsequently violated the terms of his probation.
"It's a big, big day for Redmond," his attorney, Richard Pintal, told People.com of O'Neal's completion of his time in the drug rehab. "Redmond has come so far. He's really feeling great."

Los Angeles -- A Los Angeles judge has approved Redmond O'Neal's release from jail and enrollment in a drug rehabilitation center, E! News said Tuesday.
O'Neal, 25, is the son of the late actress Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O'Neal. He has battled an addiction to drugs for several years and been arrested numerous times on drug charges.
He was jailed again in December for violating the terms of his probation by returning to his former court-mandated rehab under the influence following a 24-hour pass.
"The plan for you is severe, and justifiably so," E! News quoted Judge Michael Tynan as telling O'Neal Tuesday. "We all want you to do well, but it's up to you."

Los Angeles, January 6 -- Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett's troubled son Redmond O'Neal is back behind bars. A Superior Court Judge ordered Redmond back in jail Tuesday, after finding that that he had committed a drug-related probation violation.

Los Angele -- Redmond O'Neal has been arrested again for an alleged drug violation, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles district attorney's office said Tuesday.
The 24-year-old son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late actress Farrah Fawcett has long battled substance abuse problems and has been arrested several times for drug offenses.
He had been in a private drug treatment facility since September after serving time in jail, but officials told People.com he was arrested again for a drug violation Dec. 29.
People.com said a judge Tuesday ordered O'Neal to spend 30 days in a prison rehab.
He is to be sentenced Feb. 2 for violating the terms of his probation, the report said.

Santa Clarita, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Redmond O'Neal pleaded no contest Friday to bringing heroin into a California jail and will spend at least one year in a residential rehabilitation program.
O'Neal, 24, son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, entered his plea in a court in Santa Clarita, Calif. He is expected to be transferred from the Pitchess Detention Center. where he was serving time for a probation violation. to the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, Calif., People magazine reported on its Web site.
The sentenced meted out by Superior Court Judge Graciela Freixes provides for three years of formal probation and if O'Neal messes up in any way he could wind up in prison for up to six years, People said.

Redmond O'Neal's lawyers are fighting to have the troubled star transferred from prison to a residential rehab centre, according to U.S. reports.
The 24-year-old son of Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O'Neal is serving time at a California detention centre, stemming from an April (09) arrest for drug possession.
He is undergoing treatment while he is jail, but his legal team argues he would be better off at a dedicated facility on the outside and is reportedly asking the courts for O'Neal to be released three months early so he can get the help he needs.

The struggling drug addict was slated to star in a series documenting his ongoing battle to beat his demons.
The TV deal was said to have been brokered by his famous father, who was reportedly set to appear alongside his son in the show.
O'Neal was set to be followed by a trainer and a bodyguard as he tried to get his life back on track following the death of his Charlie's Angels star mother in June (09), according to the reports.
But the O'Neal clan is said to be angry at the rumours - and has no plans for Redmond to appear on TV, according to America's Extra news.

O'Neal's son with Fawcett, Redmond O'Neal, 24 -- who is serving an 18-month jail sentence on drug charges -- was temporarily released from the Los Angeles County Jail to attend his mother's private funeral Tuesday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles, CNN reported.
Fawcett, 62, died last week after a three-year battle against cancer.

Los Angeles -- Redmond O'Neal has been moved to a jail specially equipped to serve drug offenders, a spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff Department said Thursday.
O'Neal is the 24-year-old son of celebrity couple Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett. He was recently ordered to complete a 12-month rehabilitation program at his sentencing for probation violation and felony drug possession.
The younger O'Neal was transferred to the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic Wednesday afternoon where he will begin his "aggressive drug and alcohol rehabilitation program," Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told Usmagazine.com.
"It is a jail," Whitmore added. "We have several jails in the south facility -- he is in a compound area of it."

Los Angeles -- Redmond O'Neal, the son of U.S. actors Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, has entered a drug treatment program as an alternative to jail, prosecutors said.
Los Angeles County officials said Thursday that O'Neal, who has undergone several recent arrests on charges of drug possession and driving under the influence of drugs, will enter a year-long treatment program that includes court appearances and frequent drug tests, the BBC reported.
O'Neal, 24, will face prison time if he relapses, but will see two drug convictions dropped from his record if he successfully completes the program, an official said.
