Real Salt Lake

MLS: New York 0, Real Salt Lake 0 (tie)

Harrison, N.J. -- Real Salt Lake hit Red Bull New York's goal post twice in the first half Saturday only to settle for a 0-0 tie that extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games.

Andy Williams drilled the right upright in the 9th minute and Robbie Russell smacked the left post 3 minutes later.

The draw left RSL four points back of the Los Angeles Galaxy for the top overall record in Major League Soccer's Western Conference with two games to play.

Real Salt Lake (14-4-10) goalkeeper Nick Rimando made just one save for his league-leading 13th shutout. RSL has lost just once in its last 23 games.

Real Salt Lake wins shootout, MLS title

Seattle -- Real Salt Lake won a penalty-kick shootout against Los Angeles 5-4 Sunday after regulation and extra time play ended in a 1-1 tie in the MLS Cup title game.

RLS goalie Nick Rimando made two saves and league MVP Landon Donovan missed on a penalty kick for the Galaxy to give the 2009 league crown to RSL -- which came into the playoffs as the eighth seed.

The Galaxy and RSL swapped goals in the first two rounds of the shootout before Rimando denied the Galaxy's Jovan Kirovski and LA goalie Josh Saunders turned away a shot by Kyle Beckerman. Shooting next, Donovan missed high and then Ned Grabavoy put RLS up 3-2.

MLS: Salt Lake 3, Colorado 0

Sandy, Utah-- Real Salt Lake shut out Colorado 3-0 Saturday to keep its MLS playoff hopes alive.

Robbie Findley scored two goals and Yura Movsisyan added one in the victory, which tied Salt Lake with the Rapids in the standings.

Both teams could either make the playoffs or see their season come to an end, depending how the remainder of the weekend MLS schedule plays out.

Findley scored his first goal on a header 15 minutes into the match and made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute with a ball chipped over Rapids goalie Preston Burpo.

Movsisyan added his eighth goal of the season in the 85th minute.
