Columbus, Ohio -- Jared Sullinger struck for 17 points and second-ranked Ohio State stayed hot Sunday with an 85-60 victory over Western Carolina.

Sullinger grabbed five rebounds and Dallas Lauderdale and Deshaun Thomas both added 13 points for the Buckeyes (8-0).

Ohio State added to its streak of winning each of its games by double digits with its latest triumph.

The Catamounts (4-8) were led by Mike Williams with a game-high 22 points and Trey Sumler contributed 12 points off the bench in the loss.

COL FB: Wisconsin 34, Purdue 13

West Lafayette, Ind. -- The 7th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers scored four second-half touchdowns Saturday to upend Purdue 34-13.

Montee Ball scored twice in the half on runs of 31 and 15 yards and finished the game with 127 yards for the Badgers (8-1, 4-1 Big Ten), who trailed 10-6 at halftime.

Scott Tolzien completed 13-of-19 passes for 130 yards with a touchdown for the Badgers, who returned to action following an off week.

Tolzien tossed a 7-yard TD pass to Jared Abbrederis early in the third quarter to begin the comeback. Antonio Fenelus' 36-yard interception return in the fourth quarter closed out the scoring.

Dementieva retires from tennis

Doha, Qatar -- Elena Dementieva, who was twice a major-tournament finalist and was ranked as high as No. 3 in the world, retired from competitive tennis Friday.

Dementieva, 29, made her decision public after she lost 6-4, 6-2 to Francesca Schiavone in her final round-robin match at the WTA Championships in Qatar. The loss formally eliminated Dementieva from the tournament.

COL FB: Iowa 38, Michigan 28

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Ricky Stanzi found Derrell Johnson-Koulianos for three touchdown passes Saturday in No. 14 Iowa's 38-28 victory over 24th-ranked Michigan.

Two of those TD passes came in the first half and helped the Hawkeyes (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten) build a 21-7 lead at the break. They increased their advantage to 28-7 after three quarters and then withstood three Michigan touchdowns in the final 20 minutes.

Adam Robinson rambled for 143 yards and two touchdowns for the Hawkeyes.

Substitute quarterback Tate Forcier replaced an injured Denard Robinson late in the game and led the surge, tossing for 239 yards and notching both a passing and a running score.

Robinson was shaken up on a run for the Wolverines (5-2, 1-2).

Kapur leads on European Tour

Celadna, Czech Republic -- Shiv Kapur, winless on the European Tour and ranked only 100th on the season-long points list, shot a 6-under 66 Thursday to grab the lead at the Czech Open.

Kapur birdied six holes in a row beginning at the second and took a one-shot lead in the opening round over Tano Goya and Peter Hanson. Richard Bland and Julien Guerrier both had a 68 at the Prosper Golf Resort to share fourth place.

The first round was contested in a steady rain but play was never suspended.

Kapur was tied for the lead after 72 holes of the South African Open this year but lost in a playoff.

Inspired by Stephanie Meyer's series of vampire-based Twilight novels, many parents in the nation named their newborns Isabella, and Jacob, which are the popular characters from the Twilight series.
