MLB: Milwaukee 6, Colorado 1

Denver -- Randy Wolf pitched seven solid innings and the Milwaukee Brewers scored five ninth-inning runs Sunday to dispatch Colorado 6-1 in an inter-league game.

Wolf allowed only three hits and four walks, but ended with a no-decision after taking a 1-1 tie into the eighth.

The Brewers broke the game open an inning later, exploding for five runs against against Manuel Corpas (1-4). Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks each socked two-run doubles and Prince Fielder chipped in with a run-scoring double of his own in the outburst, which enabled the Brewers to avoid a three-game sweep at Coors Field.
Trevor Hoffman (2-4) earned the victory with a scoreless eighth.

Dodgers set rotation for Philadelphia

Los Angeles, Oct. 15: The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped pitchers Jeff Weaver and Jon Garland and added Hiroki Kuroda before Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Kuroda is expected to start Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday.

He has been trying to recover from a herniated disc in his neck.

Also added was rookie third left-handed reliever Scott Elbert, who was inactive against St. Louis.

Garland won three times after he was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in July, and did not pitch against the St. Louis Cardinals in the Division Series.

"We just felt with (Philadelphia), we wanted the option of another left-hander," Manager Joe Torre said on the Dodgers' Web site.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 6, Colorado 1

Denver, Aug. 27: Andre Ethier and James Loney accounted for all the Los Angeles runs by combining for three homers in boosting the Dodgers to a 6-1 victory over Colorado.

The Dodgers restored their lead over the Rockies in the National League West to three games, slowing down a Colorado charge by snapping the Rockies' four-game winning streak.

Ethier hit a two-run homer in the first and a solo shot in the fourth. Loney delivered a three-run blast later in the fourth.

In the last 13 games in which Ethier has had at least one at bat, he has hit .461 with four homers and 14 RBI.

Randy Wolf (9-6) took advantage of the home run support to win his fourth straight start. He allowed a run on five hits in 7 1/3 innings.

MLB: LA Dodgers 2, Chicago Cubs 1

Los Angeles, Aug. 22: Randy Wolf and two relievers limited Chicago to a lone hit Friday, and the Los Angeles Dodgers won a pitcher's duel 2-1.

Wolf drove in both Los Angeles runs, and the Dodgers took advantage of a key error to win their second in a row.

The Dodgers, who have seen their once-large lead in the National League West steadily shrink, boosted their advantage over second-place Colorado to 4 1/2 games.

The Cubs' only hit came in the third inning and produced their only run. Sam Fuld drew a one-out walk off Wolf (8-6), was sacrificed to second and scored on a single by Ryan Theriot.

Jonathan Broxton struck out two in the ninth for his 27th save.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 9, Arizona 3

Phoenix -- Randy Wolf hit a two-run home run, drove in three runs and carried a one-hitter into the eighth inning Sunday in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 9-3 win over Arizona.

Wolf (7-6) picked up the win with 10 strikeouts and no walks, He retired 20 consecutive batters after giving up a single in the first inning.

He stroked an RBI double in the eighth inning to go with his two-run homer in the fourth -- his first home run of the season and the fifth of his career.

Andre Ethier had a three-run homer and four RBI for the Dodgers, who broke a three-game losing streak. Orlando Hudson added a two-run homer.

MLB: St. Louis 6, Los Angeles Dodgers 1

St. Louis, July 27: Brendan Ryan was 4-for-4 with two RBI and Mark DeRosa added a solo homer Monday to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chris Carpenter (9-3) pitched seven-plus innings and gave up one run, nine hits and two walks for St. Louis, which had lost five of seven prior to Monday. Rick Ankiel had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Cardinals.

Losing pitcher Randy Wolf (5-5) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings.

The Dodgers grounded into four double plays and left 11 on base. Rafael Furcal was 3-for-4 and drove in the only Dodgers run.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 12, Cincinnati 3

Los Angeles, July 22: Los Angeles Dodgers starter Randy Wolf had plenty of offense behind him Tuesday as he pitched a solid 7 1/3 innings and beat the Cincinnati Reds 12-3.

Wolf (5-4) scattered four hits, struck out four and gave up a pair of runs while also going 2-for-3 at the plate.

"Any time you get a no-brainer win it feels good," said Wolf. "I was able to change speeds, had good defense behind me and I threw strikes. Having the big lead was a nice comfort zone."

Manny Ramirez drove in two with a first-inning triple, but left the game after being hit in the hand by a pitch. X-rays were negative, the Dodgers reported.

MLB: LA Dodgers 11, N.Y. Mets 2

New York, July 9: Orlando Hudson ignited a 17-attack with a three-run double in the first inning Thursday and the Los Angeles Dodgers blasted the New York Mets 11-2.

Manny Ramirez added two RBI in helping the Dodgers improve their record against Eastern Division teams this year to 12-6.

Ramirez singled in a run in the first before Hudson produced his bases-loaded double to give Los Angeles a quick 4-0 lead. Hudson, however, limped off the field in the seventh inning when he was hit in the knee by a pitch from Brian Stokes.

Ramirez had another RBI base hit in the second and Juan Castro singled home two more in the eighth after replacing Hudson.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 3, Arizona 1

Phoenix -- Randy Wolf held Arizona to two hits in seven-plus innings and drove in a run Sunday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers past the Diamondbacks 3-1.

Wolf (1-1) struck out five batters before he was relieved by Hong-Chih Kuo.

Jonathan Broxton came on in the ninth and earned his third save of the season.

James Loney had two hits and an RBI for Los Angeles, which also scored a run on a fielder's choice.

Wolf drove in a run while lining into a double-play.

Felipe Lopez had two of the Diamondbacks' three hits and Stephen Drew sent home their only run with a sacrifice fly.

Losing pitcher Dan Haren (0-2) gave up two runs and four hits in six innings.
