MLB: San Francisco 8, Cincinnati 5

Cincinnati, Aug. 19: Ryan Garko's two-run double in the 10th inning Tuesday drove in the winning run in San Francisco's 8-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Garko, who had tied the game with a two-run single in the sixth, brought Pablo Sandoval and Randy Winn in from second and third and then scored on Aaron Rowand's single.

The damage came against Francisco Cordero (1-3), who took the loss after giving up three runs on three hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Bob Howry (1-5) picked up the win in relief of Giants ace Tim Lincecum, who gave up five runs on four hits and three walks in six innings. Brian Wilson earned his 29th save.

MLB: San Francisco 10, New York Mets 1

New York, Aug. 17: Aaron Rowand was 4-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Monday to pace the San Francisco to a 10-1 win over the New York Mets.

Randy Winn had three hits and scored twice and Nate Schierholtz hit a two-run double for the Giants.

Winning pitcher Joe Martinez (3-1) allowed just one run on five hits with two walks over five innings.

Gary Sheffield drove in the lone run and Cory Sullivan had two hits and scored for the Mets.

Livan Hernandez (7-8) took the loss after giving up six runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

MLB: San Francisco 4, Pittsburgh 2

San Francisco, July 28: Tim Lincecum struck out 15 and went the distance Monday in the San Francisco Giants' 4-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Lincecum (11-3) allowed two runs on four hits with three walks in his fourth complete game this season.

Andres Torres hit a two-run triple, Randy Winn had two hits and one RBI and Bengie Molina drove in a run for the Giants, who have split their last eight games.

Garrett Jones and Ryan Doumit each had an RBI for the Pirates, who lost their third straight game.

Pittsburgh starter Paul Maholm (6-5) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits over six innings.

MLB: Atlanta 11, San Francisco 3

Atlanta, July 20: Ryan Church hit a two-run homer in a six-run seventh inning Monday when the Atlanta Braves posted an 11-3 victory over San Francisco.

Chipper Jones also hit a two-run homer and Garret Anderson added a solo homer for the Braves, who have won eight of their last 11 games. Church was 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Tommy Hanson (5-0) earned the win after giving up three runs on five hits and striking out 11 in seven innings.

Braves shortstop Yunel Escobar, who was named the National League Player of the Week, was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Randy Winn had a pair of hits, including a two-run double for San Francisco, which has lost four of its last five games.

MLB: Pittsburgh 2, San Francisco 1

Pittsburgh, July 17: Garrett Jones launched the second pitch of the 14th inning for his second homer of the game Friday, giving Pittsburgh a 2-1 victory over San Francisco.

Jones also homered in the first inning and Pittsburgh managed only four other hits until he drove an 0-1 pitch over the wall in right off Bob Howry (0-5).

The Pirates halted a four-game losing streak and handed the Giants their second straight setback.

San Francisco tied it in the seventh when Randy Winn raced in from third on a two-out fielding error by second baseman Freddy Sanchez. That miscue spoiled a sensational effort by starter Paul Maholm, who allowed four hits and struck out seven over eight innings.

MLB: Milwaukee 7, San Francisco 6

Milwaukee, June 28: Prince Fielder drove in the winning run with a ninth-inning RBI double Saturday in the Milwaukee Brewers' 7-6 win over San Francisco.

The Brewers scored three times in the home half of the ninth after the Giants had scored twice in the top of the ninth to break a 4-4 tie.

Aaron Rowand, Randy Winn and Pablo Sandoval opened the inning with consecutive singles. Rowand scored on a sacrifice fly by Bengie Molina and Winn came in on a sacrifice fly by Edgar Renteria to put the Giants ahead 6-4.

MLB: San Francisco 3, Texas 2

San Francisco -- Randy Winn's seventh-inning single drove in the winning run for the San Francisco Giants Sunday in their 3-2 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Winn's base hit to right brought in Aaron Rowland, who had singled with two outs and then advanced to third when Edgar Renteria singled.

Barry Zito (4-7) picked up the win, giving up two runs on two hits over seven innings. Zito struck out eight, walked four and had a no-hitter going through six innings.

Kevin Millwood (7-5) took the loss despite striking out 10 Giants. He gave up three runs on eight hits over seven innings.

Andruw Jones drove in both Texas runs with a home run in the seventh that tied the game 2-2.

MLB: San Francisco 5, Arizona 3

Phoenix -- Randy Winn hit a two-run homer Saturday to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 5-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Randy Johnson returned to Arizona in his first start as a visitor and walked seven batters before leaving in the fourth inning. Still, the Giants got their fifth win in a row, with Edgar Renteria driving in two runs with a double, and Emmanuel Burriss also contributing an RBI.

Johnson made his second start this season against Arizona -- his former team -- but lasted only 3 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Justin Miller (1-0) got the win after allowing one run in 1 2/3 innings.

Eric Byrnes and Justin Upton each homered for the Diamondbacks, who have lost three of four.
