San Jose, Calif. -- A power outage in San Jose, Calif., that threatened to cancel Tuesday's NHL Sharks-Red Wings game has been fixed and the game will go on, officials said.
Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment, managers of the HP Pavilion, said a power failure at the arena that began at 8:45 a.m. PST had been resolved, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The outage was "due to a problem with an on-site electrical switchgear," the company said in a statement.
"With the assistance of (Pacific Gas & Electric), the problem has been repaired," the statement said. "We do not expect the outage to have any impact on the Sharks/Red Wings game at 7:30 p.m. (PST) this evening."
Many of the Red Wings skipped a morning skate due to the outage.
