Spears's dance teacher arrested for rape

Miami -- A Florida dance teacher who taught pop star Britney Spears before she became famous has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an underage student.

Dawhone Perry, who runs the popular New Dimensions Dance Academy, has been charged with rape but was released from police custody on bond, WFTV, Orlando, Fla., reported Tuesday.

A former student has accused Perry of having sex with her between 800 and 900 times during a three-year relationship that allegedly started in 2005 when she was 15, WFTV said.

Perry's arrest reportedly came after Brevard County sheriff's investigators recorded a conversation between Perry and his alleged victim during which Perry allegedly admitted he was "sorry for what he did."
