14 trades turn phone into Porsche

Glendora, Calif. -- A California 17-year-old said a series of 14 creative Craigslist swaps, beginning with an outdated cellphone, earned him a 2000 Porsche Boxster S.

Steven Ortiz of Glendora said he first offered the cellphone for trading on the Web site about 2 years ago and the experience led to a series of trades that saw him briefly owning a dirt bike, a MacBook Pro, a 1987 Toyota 4Runner and the 1975 Ford Bronco he traded for the Porsche, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported Wednesday.

Typo leads to deluge of phone calls

Chicago -- Officials in a Chicago suburb have agreed to reimburse a woman for cellphone minutes after 24,000 fliers mistakenly listed her number as a government line.

Tracy Stajszczak of Mokena, Ill., said she thought the first call she received Tuesday from someone seeking information about an Oak Park, Ill., village parking sticker was a simple wrong number, but it was quickly followed by dozens more, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.

Stajszczak said she later discovered Oak Park officials sent out 24,000 fliers Tuesday mistakenly listing her cellphone number instead of the number for the village clerk's office, which is different by one digit.
