Phoenix -- Martin Hanzal, Peter Mueller and Scottie Upshall scored for Phoenix and the Coyotes won for the fourth time in six games Thursday, downing Chicago 3-1.

Hanzal also chalked up an assist and Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov made 31 saves.

Phoenix led 3-0 before Kris Versteeg scored for the Blackhawks in the second period. The third period was scoreless.

Chicago goalie Cristobal Huet stopped 20 shots.

San Jose, Calif., Oct. 13: Lauri Korpikoski scored the game-winning goal Monday in his first NHL shootout attempt to hand the Phoenix Coyotes a 1-0 win over San Jose.

Peter Mueller also scored for Phoenix during the shootout and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 26 shots to help the Coyotes break a two-game losing streak.

Evgeni Nabokov made 30 saves for the Sharks, who came into the game with two straight wins.
