Ottawa -- Patrice Bergeron scored the winning goal in Boston's 4-3 shootout victory over the Ottawa Senators Saturday.

Bergeron, who had an assist in regulation, was the second Boston shooter and put enough of a move to the right on Senators goalie Brian Elliott for his wrist shot to slither across the goal line.

Blake Wheeler, Mark Recchi and David Krejci scored in regulation for the Bruins.

Tim Thomas turned in 27 saves.

Mike Fisher, Milan Michalek and Daniel Alfredsson tallied for the Senators. Elliott stopped 25 of 28 shots.

The score was tied 1-1 until 9:14 of the third period when Michalek scored.
