Yanks' Johnson has surgery

New York -- New York Yankees first baseman Nick Johnson had surgery Tuesday to remove inflamed tissue from his right wrist.

The procedure, performed at New York-Presbyterian Hospital by Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser, will keep Johnson from swinging a bat for up to six weeks.

The oft-injured Johnson, who had surgery on the same wrist in 2008, was batting. 167 with two home runs and eight RBI in 24 games this season.
