Minnesota had a five-game winning streak halted and dropped a game below 500, but stayed within 4 1/2 games of division-leading Detroit in the American League Central.

Guthrie (9-12) won his second straight start, striking out five without walking a batter.

Baltimore scored twice in the first, once on a throwing error by shortstop Orlando Cabrera, and Felix Pie added a solo homer in the fifth.

MLB: Milwaukee 4, Minnesota 3

Milwaukee, June 24: Jason Kendall doubled in the tying run in the eighth Wednesday and then scored on two straight throwing errors, lifting Milwaukee over Minnesota 4-3.

Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn (6-3) was still on the mound with a 3-2 lead in the eighth and recorded two quick outs.

J.J. Hardy then singled and scored when Kendall doubled off the wall in center. Shortstop Brendan Harris threw home in a bid to get Hardy at the plate, but the throw sailed past the catcher, allowing Kendall to go to third.

Blackburn was backing up home plate on the play and he fired a throw to third in hopes of nailing Kendall. That turned out to be a wild throw as well and Kendall came in with what turned out to be the winning run.
