Will we see tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other disasters with 'supermoon' next week? Well, while astrologers are warning that moon's closest approach to Earth will wreck havoc, the scientists have ruled out the prediction.

'Twilight' flicks win big at Teen Choice

Los Angeles -- "New Moon" and "Eclipse," the second and third chapters in the "Twilight" film franchise, collected 15 Teen Choice awards in Los Angeles.

The star-studded Sunday show, which included appearances by Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Megan Fox, Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock and David Beckham, is to air on Fox Monday night.

Bullock was a big winner, collecting the prizes for Choice Movie Actress for her work in "The Blind Side" and "The Proposal," as well as the trophy for Choice Movie Dance with her "Proposal" co-star, Betty White, MTV.com said.

Beckham won the award for Choice Male Athlete.

'Moon' tops U.S. DVD sales chart

Los Angeles -- "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is the top-selling DVD in the United States, Rentrak reported.

Coming in at No. 2 on the sales list for the week ending March 21 is "The Princess and the Frog," followed by "Ninja Assassin" at No. 3, "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" at No. 4 and "Old Dogs" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" at No. 6, "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" at No. 7, "The Fourth Kind" at No. 8, "Planet 51" at No. 9 and "2012" at No. 10.

"2012" was the No. 1 rental DVD for the week ending March 20, Rentrak said Thursday.

New York, January 12 -- Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey expects to start filming of ‘Breaking Dawn’, the final installment of the Twilight series, in Vancouver by this fall.

'New Moon' tops $200M in eight days

Los Angeles -- The U.S. vampire movie "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" earned more than $200 million during its first eight days of release, figures show.

Variety.com reported Friday that "New Moon," which opened nationwide Nov. 20, has earned estimated $206.1 million to date, despite losing out to "The Blind Side" in Thanksgiving Day ticket sales.

After "Blind Side" grabbed the top spot for the holiday, "New Moon" roared back to first Friday thanks to earning $17.9 million at 4,042 theaters.

Variety.com said "Blind Side" has earned $76.3 million domestically to date.

Los Angeles -- The soon-to-be-released vampire film "New Moon" is No. 1 on MovieTickets.com's list of the Top 10 Advance Ticket Sellers of All Time, the U.S. Web site said.

The "Twilight" sequel, which is set to open Friday, has surpassed the former top contender -- "Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" -- and the "Harry Potter" and "Lord of the Rings" film franchises as it set a new record.

New York -- Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are to present a preview of their film "New Moon" at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in Universal City, Calif.

"The never-before-seen clip is a first look at the much-anticipated next installment in the Summit Entertainment ('Twilight Saga') vampire film franchise that became a pop-culture phenomenon," MTV said in a news release Monday. "MTV will continue to increase the star power as movie megastars Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Sienna Miller, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Thomas Lennon, Danny McBride and Sofia Vassilieva are added to the growing list of Hollywood's hottest names to hand out popcorn awards this year."
