NCAA: Boise State 45, Louisiana 35

Ruston, La. -- Two fourth-quarter touchdowns Friday kept No. 5 Boise State undefeated with a 45-35 win over WAC rival Louisiana Tech.

Kellen Moore threw a 12-yard TD pass to Austin Pettis midway through the quarter and Jeremy Avery bolted for a 43-yard score for the Broncos (9-0, 4-0 WAC).

Tech scored a pair of TDs in the final quarter but could not overcome their less-productive first half, in which they scored only seven points.

The Broncos racked up 507 yards of offense to Tech's 250.

Moore completed 28-of-41 passes for 354 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, which was returned 76 yards for a touchdown by Josh Victorian.

COL BB: LSU 11, Texas 4

Omaha, June 24: Sean Ochinko capped a five-run sixth inning with a two-run single Wednesday, vaulting LSU to the NCAA baseball championship with an 11-4 win over Texas.

The Tigers won their sixth national title, all of them coming in the last 18 years. The Longhorns had been trying for their seventh NCAA crown.

LSU's victory came in the deciding game of a best-of-three series, which the Longhorns forced with a 5-1 victory Tuesday. The Tigers won the opener in 11 innings 7-6.

Texas overcame a four-run deficit to tie the score in the fifth, but the Tigers broke things open in the sixth -- four of the five runs in the inning being unearned. The Longhorns committed a key error in the inning and Texas pitchers hit two batters and threw a wild pitch.
