Schamburg, Ill. -- U.S. electronics giant Motorola Inc. said it had agreed to sell Good Technology to VISTO Corp. for an undisclosed sum.

Motorola bought Good Technology, a mobile e-mail provider, in 2007, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday. The company hoped Good Technology's services that moved data from computers to mobile devises, would help it compete with Research In Motion, makers of the BlackBerry, the Tribune said.

At Motorola, Good Technology was aligned with the company's Enterprise Mobility division, which has been a money-maker, while the firm's mobile phone business has struggled, the newspaper said.
