Pressel takes Evian lead with eagle

Evian-Les-Bains, France -- Morgan Pressel scored an eagle on the 18th hole en route to a 5-under 67 and the third-round lead of the the Evian Masters in France.

The third round-ending flourish enabled Pressel to reclaim the lead two days after she ended 18 holes with a share of the top spot at Evian Masters Golf Club. She finished Saturday at 11-under 205, two strokes ahead of Jiyai Shin (68) and Jeong Jang (70).

Tied for fourth place at minus-8 were Brittany Lincicome (7-under 65) and Alexis Thompson (67).

Meanwhile, second-round leader Mika Miyazato stumbled Saturday, carding a 2-over 74 and falling into a tie for sixth place with Mayu Hattori (69), Na Yeon Choi (71) and M.J. Hur (71) at 7-under 209.

Ahn shares LPGA lead in France

Evian-Les-Bains, France -- Ahn Sun-ju had an eagle on the 18th hole and is tied for the lead after the first round Thursday of the LPGA's Evian Masters in France.

Ahn ended up with a 6-under-par 66, a score matched by Morgan Pressel and Melissa Reid at the Evian Masters Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France.

M.J. Hur and Kim Song-hee are tied for fourth at 5-under 67 with seven golfers, including Michelle Wie, two strokes off the lead at 4-under 68. Defending champion and world No. 1 Ai Miyazato is among those at 3-under.

Pressel, Inkster rally for match play wins

Gladstone, N.J. -- Morgan Pressel and Juli Inkster staged comeback victories Thursday to highlight the first round of the Sybase Match Play Championship.

Jiyai Shin and Ai Miyazato, the top two seeds in the 64-player field, both advanced to the second round and Michelle Wie survived a close call to move on as well.

Of the 32 first-round matches, 23 were won by the higher seeded player. There were 12 winners from South Korea and eight from the United States.

Pressel was 3-down with seven holes to play but fought back to even the match with a birdie at the par-5 18th and then won on the second extra hole against Jimin Kang.

Yi tops Pressel in Jamie Farr playoff

Sylvania, Ohio. -- Eunjung Yi rolled in a 14-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff with Morgan Pressel Sunday and won the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic in Ohio.

The win was Yi's first on the LPGA Tour.

Yi carded an even-par 71 in the final round of regulation play and Pressel shot a 67, tying at 18-under 266.

The playoff began at No. 18, where Pressel missed a 25-foot birdie attempt before Yi won it with her birdie.

Michelle Wie (64), Seon-Hwa Lee (67) and Song-Hee Kim (69) tied for third place at 16-under 268.

The 21-year-old Yi, who lives in Murrieta, Calif., is a native of South Korea. She had not finished in the top 10 in any prior event this season.

Yi has 61 to take LPGA Jamie Farr lead

Sylvania, Ohio. -- Eunjung Yi of Korea shot a 10-under 61 Saturday to take a four-stroke lead in the third round at the LPGA Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.

Yi, 21, made a fairway shot for an eagle at No. 10 and collected eight birdies without a bogey to post her best score on the LPGA Tour by five shots.

Yi moved to 18-under 195, four shots better than Song-Hee Kim (64) of Korea and Morgan Pressel (67) going into Sunday's final round.

Mikaela Parmlid (62) was in a group of seven players two strokes further back at 12-under 201.

Yi's 61 was not a course record. Defending champion Paula Creamer, who withdrew Thursday, had a 60 in the first round last year. Annika Sorenstam has the only 59 in LPGA Tour history.

Kemp shares lead with career low round

Sylvania, Ohio July 3: Sarah Kemp shot the lowest round of her two-year LPGA Tour career Friday and moved into a share of the lead after 36 holes of the Jamie Farr Classic.

Kemp fired an 8-under 63 over the Highland Meadows Golf Club course, three shots under her previous best. That left her at 11-under 131, tied with first-round co-leader Laura Diaz.

Diaz, who missed the cut in six of her previous seven tournaments, shot a 67 that included four birdies in her final six holes.

Morgan Pressel was alone in third at 132 after shooting a 68. Tied for fourth at 133 were Seon Hwa Lee, Natalie Gulbis and rookie sensation Jiyai Shin.
