Washington, Sept. 27: Atlanta scored three times in the top of the 10th inning Sunday to beat Washington 6-3, capping a three-game sweep.

In the pivotal inning, Brian McCann's ground out drove in the game-winner and Omar Infante delivered a two-out, two-run single.

Yunel Escobar had two hits and one RBI.

Two others also had one RBI, while Chipper Jones added two hits for the Braves, who have won 10 straight on the road, one shy of the franchise record, maintaining their slim post-season hopes.

The winner was Mike Gonzalez (4-4).

Closer Rafael Soriano earned his 27th save with a 1-2-3 10th.

Washington's Ryan Zimmerman and Josh Willingham hit back-to-back first-inning homers.

MLB: Florida 8, Atlanta 7

Miami, Sept. 2: Wes Helms hit a one-out home run in the ninth inning Wednesday in lifting the Florida Marlins to an 8-7 victory over Atlanta.

The Marlins let a 7-3 lead get away in the late innings before Helms came through with a blast that moved Florida within a game of Atlanta for second place in the National League West.

Atlanta fell four games behind Colorado in the National League wild-card race. Florida is five games back.

The Braves rallied on a three-run double by Chipper Jones in the seventh and a solo homer by Yunel Escobar in the ninth.

Denver, July 10: Garrett Atkins delivered a go-ahead, two-run double in the eighth Thursday to give Colorado a 7-6 win over Atlanta -- the Rockies' fourth straight victory.

The Rockies came from behind on three separate occasions and tied it at 5-5 on an RBI double by Clint Barmes in the seventh.

Mike Gonzalez came on in the eighth as Atlanta's fifth pitcher and issued a one-out walk to Ian Stewart. Gonzalez hit Chris Iannetta with a pitch and then got Carlos Gonzalez to pop up for the second out of the inning.

Atkins worked the count to 2-2 before blasting a double to left, bringing home both runners for a 7-5 lead.

Chicago, July 8: Kenshin Kawakami gave up a run and four hits in six innings Wednesday, leading Atlanta to a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Relievers Peter Moylan and Mike Gonzalez hurled one scoreless inning apiece before closer Rafael Soriano earned his 10th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

The lone hit by Casey Kotchman was a sixth-inning solo homer.

Martin Prado had two hits and one RBI.

Single runs scored on errors by Jake Fox in the third and Kosuke Fukudome in the ninth, while Nate McLouth had two runs and two hits for the Braves, who won twice in the three-game series.

They played a second straight day without star third baseman third baseman Chipper Jones (right groin).
