NFL: Pittsburgh 28, Denver 10

Denver -- Ben Roethlisberger threw three touchdown passes and the Pittsburgh Steelers won their fifth straight game Monday, knocking off the Denver Broncos 28-10.

Roethlisberger completed 21-of-29 passes for 234 yards. He threw two 3-yard touchdown passes to Hines Ward and a 25-yarder to Mike Wallace, all in the second half.

Tyrone Carter scored the Steelers' other touchdown with a 48-yard interception return.

Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall amassed 155 yards on 22 carries and the Steelers' defense picked off three Kyle Orton passes.

Robert Ayers scooped up a fumble and ran 54 yards for a touchdown and Matt Prater kicked a 40-yard field goal for the Broncos.

Orton was 23-of-38 passing for 221 yards.

Both teams are 6-2.

NFL: Denver 34, San Diego 24

San Diego, Oct. 20: Kyle Orton threw two second-half touchdown passes Monday and Denver produced five quarterback sacks in rallying to a 34-24 victory over San Diego.

The Broncos are unbeaten in six outings and increased their lead in the AFC West to 3 1/2 games. Minnesota, Indianapolis and New Orleans are the only other unbeaten teams remaining in the NFL.
There were four lead changes, two punt returns for touchdowns and a kickoff return for a score -- all in the first half.

NFL: Denver 20, New England 17 (OT)

Denver, Oct. 11 -- Matt Prater's 41-yard field goal in overtime gave the unbeaten Denver Broncos a 20-17 victory Sunday over the New England Patriots.

Denver is off to a 5-0 start for the first time since 1998, when the Broncos went on to win the Super Bowl.

Prater kicked the game-winner just under 5 minutes into the extra session.
Denver's Kyle Orton connected on 35-of-48 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns, both 11-yard throws to Brandon Marshall.

Tom Brady passed for touchdowns of 8 yards to Wes Welker and 7 yards to Ben Watson for the Patriots (3-2). Brady was 19-of-33 for 215 yards.

NFL: Denver 23, Oakland 3

Oakland, Calif., Sept. 27: Kyle Orton's touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall late in the first quarter Sunday sent the Denver Broncos on their way to a 23-3 victory over Oakland.

Orton, who was 13-for-23 for 157 yards, connected with Marshall on a 2-yard scoring play.

Knowshon Moreno scored on a 7-yard run and Matt Prater kicked field goals of 48, 21 and 24 yards for the Broncos (3-0).

Sebastian Janikowski accounted for the Raiders' points with a 48-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Quarterback JaMarcus Russell completed 12-of-21 passes for 61 yards with two interceptions for Oakland (1-2).

NFL: Denver 19, Arizona 0

Denver, Sept. 4: Darius Walker scored the game's only touchdown in the first quarter Thursday and Denver turned up the defensive heat for a 19-0 victory over Arizona.

The Broncos avoided what would have been their first winless exhibition campaign since their inaugural year of 1960. They also got a lift from backup quarterback Tom Brandstater, who completed 16-of-30 passes for 187 yards.

Starting quarterback Kyle Orton is recovering from an injured index finger and second-string signal caller Chris Simms has a sprained ankle.
