MLB: Colorado 4, Cincinnati 3

Denver, Sept. 9: An infield single by Seth Smith drove in two runs with two away in the ninth Wednesday, rallying the Colorado Rockies to a 4-3 victory over Cincinnati.

The Reds took a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth on a solo homer by Scott Rolen but let the game get away in the bottom of the inning on a grounder that eluded the grasp of second baseman Brandon Phillips.

Colorado's comeback gave the Rockies their sixth straight win and pushed their lead over San Francisco in the National League wild-card race to four games. The Giants lost earlier in the day to San Diego 4-2.
