Baltimore -- Marco Scutaro's third-inning throwing error allowed two runs to score and the Baltimore Orioles went on to down Boston 5-2.
With runners at the corners and two outs, Adam Jones hit a grounder to Scutaro, whose throw to second on an attempted force-out sailed past Jed Lowrie and down the right field line, allowing Brian Roberts and Luke Scott to score to make it 3-0 Baltimore.
Scott and Felix Pie homered in the eighth inning and the O's took the first of a three-game series against Red Sox at Camden Yards.
Brian Matusz (7-12) limited Boston to two runs on six hits over six frames, walking one and striking out six.

Toronto, Sept. 4: Roy Halladay's complete-game, one-hit shutout Friday carried the Toronto Blue Jays in a 6-0 win over the New York Yankees.
Halladay (14-8) chased a perfect game into the top of the fifth and a no-hitter into the sixth.
He threw 111 pitches, giving up only Ramiro Pena's one-out, sixth-inning double, with three walks and nine strikeouts.
Halladay did not pitch more than six innings in any of his previous three starts, all losses.
Aaron Hill and Joe Inglett led Toronto with two RBI apiece. Adam Lind had three hits and one RBI.
Marco Scutaro drove in a run and one scored on Pena's first-inning fielding error for the Blue Jays, who snapped a four-game slide.

Toronto, Aug. 26: Marco Scutaro scored the winning run on a wild pitch by J.P. Howell with two out in the ninth inning Wednesday, giving Toronto a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay.
The Blue Jays scored twice in the ninth to pull out a win in a strange game in which three umpires worked behind home plate.
Jerry Crawford started the game at the plate, but was hit in the mask by a foul ball and left after the second inning. Tom Hallion moved from second base to call balls and strikes, but he was hit in the chest by a pitch thrown in the sixth inning by Tampa Bay starter Scott Kazmir.
Hallion slumped to the ground and remained there for several minutes before he was able to walk off the field.

Toronto, Aug. 18: David Ortiz had a homer, three RBI and three runs scored Tuesday to help the Boston Red Sox outslug the Toronto Blue Jays 10-9.
Jacoby Ellsbury added two hits and three RBI for the Red Sox. Jason Bay homered and Victor Martinez and Alex Gonzalez each added an RBI.
Boston's Hideki Okajima (4-0) earned the win by pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Jonathan Papelbon had a four-out save, his 29th of the season, allowing two hits and walking three.
Boston starter Josh Beckett gave up seven runs and nine hits -- including three homers -- over 5 1/3 innings.
Rod Barajas had a two-run homer for the Blue Jays, who have lost five of their last six games.

Toronto -- Marco Scutaro had four hits, including a two-run homer Sunday, fueling Toronto's 7-3 win over Baltimore.
The homer, his 10th, erased a 2-1 deficit with no outs in the bottom of the third.
Vernon Wells added three RBI, while former Oriole Kevin Millar had three hits -- one a solo homer -- and two RBI for the Blue Jays, who won the final two contests in the three-game series.
Winner Roy Halladay (12-5) gave up three runs and nine hits in eight innings and beat the Orioles for the 20th time in his career.
Baltimore got two hits and one RBI from both Melvin Mora and Cesar Izturis.
Luke Scott had one RBI for the Orioles, who have split their last four games.

Seattle, July 28: Rod Barajas had three hits, including a solo homer, drove in two and scored three runs Monday in the Toronto Blue Jays 11-4 win over Seattle.
Scott Rolen had three RBI, Marco Scutaro had four hits, one RBI and a run scored, and Lyle Overbay hit a solo homer for Toronto, which won its second straight game after losing three straight.
Ricky Romero (9-4) gave up four runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts over six innings to get the victory.
Chris Shelton had two hits and two RBI, Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and scored twice, and Franklin Gutierrez and Rob Johnson had an RBI apiece for the Mariners, who lost their fourth straight game.

Toronto, July 22: Marco Scutaro hit two home runs and equaled his career best with four RBI Wednesday, carrying Toronto to a 10-6 win over Cleveland.
Scutaro hit one of Toronto's two solo homers during a five-run fifth inning and then delivered a three-run shot in the sixth that gave the Blue Jays a 10-4 advantage.
The Blue Jays won for the sixth time in 20 games, also getting homers from Vernon Wells, Alex Rios and Aaron Hill. The five home runs by the Blue Jays were a season high.
Ricky Romero (8-4) benefited from the assault, getting the win while giving up four runs on six hits in 5 1/3. He has a 6-2 home record this season.
After Cleveland fell behind 7-1, Luis Valbuena hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth.

Baltimore, July 12: Melvin Mora hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 12th inning Saturday, giving the Baltimore Orioles a 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Mora's first homer in more than two months, and third this season, broke a 3-3 tie with one out in the bottom of the 12th.
Luke Scott hit a solo homer in the fourth. Matt Wieters and Aubrey Huff had one RBI each, while Nick Markakis and Ty Wigginton added two hits apiece for the Orioles, who have won three of their last four games.
The winner was Mark Hendrickson (5-4), who pitched one inning of scoreless relief for Baltimore.

Toronto, June 23: Brian Tallet pitched six shutout innings of three-hit ball and was supported by three home runs Tuesday in Toronto's 7-5 victory over Cincinnati.
Tallet (5-4) struck out seven and walked just one walk. He had pitched seven scoreless two-hit innings in his last appearance June 9, giving up one run and five hits against Washington.
Marco Scutaro, Scott Rolen and Rob Barajas each homered for Toronto, which has won five of its last seven games. Scutaro, Barajas and Adam Lind each had two RBI apiece in the inter-league victory.
Jay Bruce had a two-run double for the Reds, who have lost eight of their last 11 games. Micah Owings (4-8) gave up six runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings for his fifth loss in his last six starts.

Arlington,Texas, June 9: -- Brian Tallet pitched seven innings of two-hit shutout Tuesday and the Toronto offense rolled over the Texas Rangers 9-0.
Tallet (4-3) walked two while matching the longest outing of his career. Dirk Hayhurst and B.J. Ryan each threw a perfect inning of relief for the Blue Jays.
Aaron Hill and Adam Lind each hit homers for the Blue Jays, who won their third game in a row. Marco Scutaro also drove in two runs and Scott Rolen went 3- for-4, scored twice and had an RBI.

Casey Janssen (2-2) started for Toronto and earned the win after giving up three runs on six hits with two walks over 5 1/3 innings.
Marlon Byrd had two hits and an RBI and David Murphy doubled twice and scored once for Texas, which has lost five of eight.
Texas starter Scott Feldman (5-1) allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings in his first loss this season.
