"I am shocked and saddened by the decision made today by the Malawian court, which sentenced two innocent men to prison," she said. "As a matter of principle, I believe in equal rights for all people, no matter what their gender, race, color, religion, or sexual orientation. Today, Malawi took a giant step backward. New York -- U.S. pop star Madonna says she and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon are collaborating on a teen clothing line for Macy's.
The garments are slated to hit stores in August.
"I did a line for H&M, which I enjoyed, but it was a lot of work," Madonna told Us Weekly. "I thought, 'I don't want to give up the rest of my careers, so I'm not going to do my own line again.' But I have a 13-year-old with tireless energy who wanted to do this. I've been involved in business meetings, but Lola's really doing the work. I just sit in the corner on my BlackBerry!"
The 51-year-old recording artist said Lourdes's style "is inspired by kids she sees in hip-hop and ballet classes, European influences, bands she listens to."
