Tussauds planning Jackson tribute

Washington -- Madame Tussauds says wax figures of U.S. pop star Michael Jackson are being prominently featured at its attractions to mark the first anniversary of his death.

Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. said its studio artists will position Jackson's wax figure in the attraction's lobby, touch up the figure's makeup, style its hair and prepare its outfit for a special Michael Jackson Tribute Exhibit Wednesday.

Robert Pattinson is the latest celebrity to have his life-size statue in Madame Tussauds museum of wax. Pattinson will be officially included in both New York and London branches from March 25.

Presidential party scene set at Tussauds

Washington -- Madame Tussauds Washington says it is setting up a star-studded party scene to celebrate U.S. President Barack Obama's 48th birthday.

Starting Tuesday, Obama's birthday, the museum's Oval Office exhibit will feature wax figures of Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as singer Beyonce and former President George W. Bush, wearing party hats and surrounded by a sea of red and yellow balloons.

"Guests in the attraction can join the party in the attraction's replica Oval Office and have their photograph taken with the president and his party guests," the museum said in a news release.

London, February 17: Madame Tussauds on Monday unveiled a new, improved wax figure of Britney Spears at its world-famous wax museum in London. The is Spears’ second wax figure, which depicts the pop star's successful comeback.

London -- Madame Tussauds in London Monday unveiled a new Britney Spears figure designed to capture the U.S. pop star's comeback look.

The Daily Telegraph said the latest Spears waxwork is smiling, has long blond hair, is dressed in a sparkly silver dress with a plunging neckline and is holding an MTV Video Music Award.

"We are delighted to be featuring Britney at Madame Tussauds London for the second time," Madame Tussauds' spokeswoman Liz Edwards told the newspaper.

"Her original figure captured a provocative pose from her 2001 Dream Within a Dream Tour and was extremely popular. However, she's undergone a huge transformation since then and we wanted to reflect her as she is now."

Since that 2001 tour, Spears, 27, has been married and divorced, given birth to two sons and suffered well-publicized legal battles and a meltdown that led to a brief hospitalization. Spears's father was legally appointed last year to oversee her affairs and she has since been spending more time with her children, has released the new hit album "Circus" and has announced plans for a concert tour.
