La Toya covering 'DWTS' for 'Access'

Los Angeles -- La Toya Jackson has signed on as "Access Hollywood's" guest correspondent covering the ninth season of TV's "Dancing with the Stars," NBC said.

The pop singer -- who, along with her family, has been at the center of a media firestorm since her brother Michael's unexpected death last June -- began her gig with "Access Hollywood" Tuesday night.

"After having such a traumatic summer and respectfully declining an invitation to be a contestant on ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' due to the circumstances, I am pleased to accept this invitation from 'Access Hollywood' to be their special guest correspondent and I look forward to it," Jackson said in a statement.

Dad: Jackson wasn't ready for 50 shows

Los Angeles -- Joe Jackson says he doesn't believe his pop singer son, Michael, was ready to start his upcoming 50-date London concert series when he died.

Michael Jackson, 50, was scheduled to begin his residency at the O2 Arena Monday, but died June 25 of cardiac arrest following a suspected drug overdose.

While concert promoters said the popular recording artist was in great form during rehearsals, his father contends he wasn't healthy enough to headline so many shows and was pushed into doing more than he intended.

La Toya lays blame for Jackson's death

Los Angeles -- La Toya Jackson alleges her brother Michael was effectively killed by his greedy and manipulative entourage, a charge LA police say they aren't ready to make.

The 53-year-old pop singer said her family is concerned those who hung around her even more famous brother may have been focused more on obtaining his wealth than being his friend, The Independent reported Sunday.

"We don't think just one person was involved in the murder. It was a conspiracy to get Michael's money," she told the British newspaper.

She said her family is planning to sue any unidentified individuals deemed
responsible for Jackson's June 25 death at the age of 50.

"He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person," she said.
