The Things They Say:

"Some bands take a year off. We'd go crazy if we did that.

I'd end up weighing 300lbs, eating all the time and never leaving the house." Kings Of Leon guitarist Matthew Followill is adamant the band will never stop touring.

Bad weather cancels Kings of Leon show

Benicassim, Spain -- A publicist for the Kings of Leon says poor weather forced the U.S. rock band to cancel its performance at Spain's Benicassim festival.

The BBC reported Sunday the unidentified publicist cited heavy winds and unsafe conditions at the Spanish festival as the reasons for the Nashville band's decision to forgo its Friday performance.

The publicist said attempts to rescheduled the "Sex on Fire" band's festival performance were unsuccessful because it is to perform at an upcoming Swiss festival.

"This is a very big disappointment to the band (which is) looking forward to performing in Spain at Benicassim as one of the big highlights of (its) summer of live activity," the publicist said.

Kings of Leon booked for MTV awards show

New York -- Kings of Leon have signed up to perform at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards show in Universal City, Calif., MTV said Wednesday.

The rock group's May 31 appearance at the Gibson Amphitheatre will mark their first live performance on MTV, the network said.

The band is expected to perform their rock anthem "Use Somebody" from their hit album "Only By the Night" during the show for which actor-comedian Andy Samberg is to serve as host.

Following the MTV Movie Awards, Kings of Leon will be playing festivals worldwide all summer and into the fall, including headlining slots at Lollapalooza in Chicago and the Austin Limits City Festival. They are now wrapping up their first U.S. arena tour.

Kings of Leon among Lollapalooza acts

Chicago -- The Kings of Leon will perform when the Lollapalooza music festival hits Chicago this summer, an industry source says.

The band behind the Grammy Award-winning album "Only by the Night" will be among the headliners for the Aug. 7-9 event at Chicago's Grant Park, Billboard.com reported Sunday.

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farwell also is getting his band, Jane's Addition, back together for this year's festival. The original members of Jane's Addition, known for such hits as "Been Caught Stealing," hasn't played Lallapalooza since the inaugural event in 1991.

The Beastie Boys and Depeche Mode also are part of this year's lineup.

Billboard.com said the full slate of performers is expected to be released sometime in April.
