MLS: D.C United 2, Kansas City 2

Washington -- Claudio Lopez's late goal on a penalty kick earned the Kansas City Wizards a 2-2 draw with D.C. United Saturday.

The tie knocked United's playoff hopes back in their final regular-season match, leaving them tied with Colorado and Salt Lake City.

Lopez scored his seventh goal of the season in the 92nd minute, 10 minutes after Julius James had put D.C. ahead 2-1 with an unassisted goal, his first of the season.

Kei Kamara scored the other Kansas City goal in the 30th minute.

The Wizards held the lead for more than 20 minutes into the second half when Jamie Moreno converted on a penalty kick to tie the score 1-1.

MLS: Houston 3, Chicago 2

Houston, Aug. 9: A penalty kick by Stuart Holden in the 83rd minute lifted the Houston Dynamo to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire Sunday.

Holden got his chance to break a 2-2 tie when Chicago's Brandon Prideaux was whistled for a foul on Corey Ashe.

The win was only the second in the past six games for the Western Conference leading Dynamo (11-6-5), while the Fire (8-4-8) had its five-game winning streak snapped.

Houston took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Kei Kamara and Ricardo Clark. The Fire came back with goals by Chris Rolfe and Peter Lowry in the first three minutes of the second half to tie the match.

MLS: Houston 1, Kansas City 0

Kansas City, Kan. July 5: Kei Kamara scored in the 18th minute Saturday and the Houston Dynamo beat Kansas City 1-0 to win for the sixth time in its last eight MLS matches.

Houston (9-3-4) broke a two-game losing streak and stretched its Western Conference lead over second-place Chivas USA to four points. With 31 points, the Dynamo has the best record in the league.

The Wizards (5-6-4) lost for the second time in their last three matches.
Kamara scored his fourth goal of the season off a feed from Mike Chabala.

MLS: Los Angeles 1, Houston 0

Carson, Calif. June 29 Todd Dunivant scored the game's only goal on a short corner kick in the Los Angeles Galaxy's 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo Sunday.

The Galaxy's victory snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Dynamo (8-3-4).

Dunivant's goal, his first this season, came in the 24th minute as he redirected a shot from Mike Magee to score on Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad.

The win was just the third this season for Los Angeles (3-3-9) and its second in nine games.

Houston's attack didn't get off a shot until the last minute of the opening half when Kei Kamara headed the ball straight at goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.
