Cincinnati -- Johnny Cueto tossed six strong innings and added a two-run single Monday to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-2 win over Washington.
Cueto (9-2) held the Nationals to two runs despite allowing four walks, yielding four hits and striking out four en route to his fifth straight start without a loss.
He helped himself at the plate, driving in two runs with an infield hit in the second inning to make it 4-0.
Jonny Gomes and Miguel Cairo socked solo homers in the sixth for the Reds, who remained a game behind first-place St. Louis in the National League Central standings.
Cristian Guzman and Nyjer Morgan drove in Washington's runs.
J.D. Martin (1-5) took the loss, surrendering six runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Oakland, Calif. -- Johnny Cueto and two relievers combined for a seven-hit shutout Wednesday, handing the Cincinnati Reds a 3-0 inter-league win and a sweep of Oakland.
Cueto (7-2) scattered seven hits over seven innings, walking two and striking out four to bounce back from a tough 1-0 loss to Seattle's Cliff Lee in his previous outing.
Nick Masset blanked the A's in the eighth and Francisco Cordero picked up his 19th save with a scoreless ninth to give the Reds a three-game sweep in their inter-league series at Oakland Coliseum.
Jay Bruce hit a two-run single in the first inning and Jonny Gomes added an RBI double for Cincinnati.
Oakland's Vin Mazzaro (2-2) absorbed the tough-luck loss, yielding a pair of runs on six hits in seven innings.

Pittsburgh, Sept. 22: Scott Rolen had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 10-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Reds scored five runs in the fifth inning. Brandon Phillips drove in two runs and scored once and Joey Votto had three hits and scored three runs for the Reds.
Johnny Cueto (10-10) gave up two runs on nine hits in five innings for the win.
Zach Duke (10-15) took the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings.
Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI, Ronny Cedeno, and Robinzon Diaz each had an RBI, and Lastings Milledge went 3-for-5 with two runs scored for Pittsburgh.

St. Louis, Aug. 11: Matt Holliday had a triple, an RBI and a run scored Monday for the St. Louis Cardinals, who beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 for their fourth straight win.
Holliday is hitting .459 with four homers and 16 RBI in 16 games with the Cardinals since being acquired from Oakland.
Brendan Ryan, Khalil Greene and Colby Rasmus each had an RBI for St. Louis.
Kyle Lohse (5-7) earned the win after pitching six innings and giving up one run on four hits to end a four-decision losing streak. It was Lohse's first victory since May 23.
Brandon Phillips drove in the lone run for the Reds.
Cincinnati starter Johnny Cueto lasted just two innings after suffering a tight left hip flexor while running out a grounder.

New York, July 11: Johan Santana threw seven scoreless innings Saturday, leading the New York Mets to a 4-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Santana (10-7) got the win after giving up five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Pedro Feliciano and closer Francisco Rodriguez finished the shutout.
Jeff Francoeur, playing his first game since being acquired from Atlanta for Ryan Church, had two hits and two RBI. Omir Santos had three hits and one RBI, Luis Castillo drove in a run and Angel Pagan had two hits for the Mets, who won just the second time in eight games.

Philadelphia, July 6: Chase Utley hit a three-run homer in a 10-run first inning Monday that started the Philadelphia Phillies to a 22-1 rout over the Cincinnati Reds.
Utley, Shane Victorino and Greg Dobbs each homered in the game's opening inning, in which 13 Philadelphia players batted. Victorino hit a two-run shot, had four RBI, scored five runs and was 4-for-5 with a walk. Dobbs had a two-run homer, four hits and scored twice and Utley also had an RBI single.
Jayson Werth had a grand slam during a six-run eighth inning and had five RBI in all. Jimmy Rollins scored four times, walked twice and was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Cincinnati, July 1: Johnny Cueto blanked Arizona for six innings and teamed with three relievers on a two-hitter Wednesday, bringing Cincinnati a 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
Cueto (8-4) struck out eight, walked four and allowed only a lead-off, infield single to Felipe Lopez in the third.
Arizona's other hit was a bunt single by Gerardo Parra to open the seventh off Arthur Rhodes.
David Weathers and Francisco Cordero each worked a perfect inning, with Cordero earning his 19th save.
The hard-luck loser was Jon Garland (4-8), who allowed a run on six hits in six innings. He has not won a start since May 19, going 0-6 in eight outings since then.

Kansas City, Mo. June 14: Miguel Olivo homered and drove in four runs Sunday when the Kansas City Royals recorded a 7-1 inter-league win over Cincinnati, completing a three-game sweep.
After two earlier RBI, Olivo capped the rout with a two-run eighth-inning blast, his ninth homer this season.
Alberto Callaspo had two hits and two RBI, while Mark Teahen had three hits and one RBI for the Royals, who have won four of five.
Winner Brian Bannister (5-3), winless in his previous three starts, surrendered an unearned run and just four hits in eight innings.
Reliever Juan Cruz pitched a scoreless ninth.

Washington, June 10: Johnny Cueto held Washington to one run over seven innings Tuesday, pitching the Cincinnati Reds to 3-2 rain-delayed victory.
Cueto (6-3) scattered four hits and four walks in a game that was held up for 1:47 by precipitation. He struck out four Nationals.
Brandon Phillips' two-run double and Ryan Hanigan's RBI single accounted for the runs for the Reds, who had dropped three of four.
Francisco Cordero picked up his 15th save this season.
Jordan Zimmerman's sore elbow kept him from starting for Washington. Ross Detwiler (0-3) started in his place and gave up three runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

St. Louis -- Laynce Nix hit a solo homer in the first and a three-run blast in the eighth Wednesday, powering Cincinnati to a 9-3 decision over St. Louis.
Brandon Phillips also had a homer and three RBI, lifting the Reds to their second win in five games.
Johnny Cueto (5-3) benefited from a quick Cincinnati start to get the win, giving up seven hits and a run over 6 1/3 innings. It was his first victory in four starts.
St. Louis starter Kyle Lohse (4-4) left in the third inning due to a continuation of soreness in his right forearm. He was hit in the forearm by a pitch in his most recent outing, causing him to be pushed back twice in the rotation. He allowed two runs on four hits before departing.
