Logano holds on for Nationwide win

Joliet -- Joey Logano, running on used tires, held on following a late-race restart Friday to win the Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 at Joliet, Ill.

Logano passed teammate Kyle Busch for the lead at Chicagoland Speedway just before a caution for debris came out with less than 20 laps remaining.

Busch and the other leaders came into the pits for new tires, but crew chief Dave Rogers kept Logano on the track.

Jason Leffler also chose to stay out with old tires, and Busch quickly passed Leffler on the restart. He could not catch Logano, however, during the final laps.

"I can't believe it," Busch radioed to his pit after the restart. "He's driving away from me."

Bowyer wins Nationwide race

Aytona Beach, Fla. July 3: Clint Bowyer held off Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards in a two-lap sprint to the finish Friday to win the Subway Jalapeno 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

The Nationwide series victory was Bowyer's first at Daytona.

Bowyer was in front when a four-car accident brought out the yellow flag near the close of the race. He grabbed the lead on the restart, got a push from Busch and fought off a challenge from Edwards.

Busch, the series leader, increased his advantage over the second-place Edwards to 172 points. Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top five.
