Clausen to get Sunday's start for Panthers

Charlotte, N.C. -- Jimmy Clausen will replace the injured Matt Moore as the starting quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, Coach John Fox said Wednesday.

Fox was left to decide between Clausen and Tony Pike, another rookie, for the starting job after Moore was placed on injured reserve this week because of a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.

Fox said Wednesday Clausen had been chosen to make his fourth start of the year. Clausen took over for Moore the third week of the season and was first on the depth chart for three weeks before Fox went back to Moore.

In his three games, Clausen completed 36-of-77 passes for 395 yards and one touchdown. He was intercepted twice. He made spot appearances in three other games.
