MLB: Colorado 3, Los Angeles Dodgers 0

Los Angeles, July 1: Jason Marquis pitched a two-hit shutout Tuesday to carry the Colorado Rockies past the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0.

Marquis (10-5) struck out three batters and walked none in an 86-pitch gem that made him the first 10-game winner in the National League this season.

"That was something special," said Rockies Manager Jim Tracy. "Marquis pounded the strike zone with his fastball and had command with everything he threw."

Marquis surrendered a single to James Loney in the second inning and then set down the next 19 Dodgers, the majority of them on ground outs, before allowing a two-out single to Juan Castro.

MLB: Colorado 9, Pittsburgh 7

Denver, June 21: Todd Helton's second hit Saturday, a two-run ninth-inning homer, rallied the Colorado Rockies to a 9-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Rockies trailed 7-4 heading into the bottom of the eighth.

Ian Stewart had three hits -- one a two-run sixth inning homer -- and three RBI. Chris Iannetta had three hits -- one a three-run homer in the eighth -- while Carlos Gonzalez added two hits and one RBI for the Rockies (35-33), who went two games over .500 for the first time this season.

They are 17-5 since Manager Jim Tracy replaced the fired Clint Hurdle May 29.
The winner was closer Huston Street (2-1).

MLB: Colorado 3, San Diego 0

Denver -- Jason Marquis and Huston Street combined on a six-hit shutout Friday, carrying the Houston Astros to a 3-0 blanking of San Diego.

Marquis (7-3) gave up all six hits and struck out six while throwing just 103 pitches over eight innings.

Jim Tracy, managing his first game for the Rockies, then made his first big decision on the job by calling on Street to finish off the game. Street needed nine pitches to work a perfect inning and grab his eighth save.

Tracy was named manager earlier in the day when the Rockies dismissed Clint Hurdle. Colorado had lost its previous three games.

Yorvit Torrealba had an RBI single in the second, producing the only earned run of the game.
