Chisox' Dye suspended for two games

New York -- Chicago White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye has been suspended two games for actions that resulted in his ejection from a game this week.

Dye was thrown out of the White Sox game Wednesday when he argued with umpire Mike DiMuro after he was called out on strikes. Dye threw his batting helmet, which may have bounced and hit DiMuro, in the incident.

Chicago Manager Ozzie Guillen was also thrown out of the game in an ensuing argument.

Dye was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount Friday by American League officials. Unless he appeals the disciplinary action, Dye would begin serving the suspension Friday when the White Sox play at Toronto.
