Cleveland, Sept. 4: Jhonny Peralta's two RBI Friday keyed Cleveland's 5-2 win over Minnesota.

He drove in one run with a double in the bottom of the third inning and another with a single in the seventh.

Travis Hafner and Michael Brantley also drove in runs and one scored on Orlando Cabrera's third-inning throwing error -- one of four Twins errors.

Jamey Carroll had three of the nine hits for the Indians, who stopped their four-game losing streak.

Winner Jeremy Sowers (6-9) gave up two runs and six hits in six innings. Closer Kerry Wood earned his 18th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

MLB: Cleveland 10, Kansas City 6

Kansas City, Mo. Aug. 24: Luis Valbuena gave Cleveland the lead with a three-run homer in the eighth Monday and the Indians pulled away late to defeat Kansas City 10-6.

Cleveland has won three in a row, one short of its longest streak of the season. Kansas City dropped its fifth straight.

The Indians faced a 5-4 deficit going into the eighth but they quickly got to reliever Joakim Soria (3-2).

Jhonny Peralta reached on a one-out single and Travis Hafner delivered an infield hit. Valbuena then hit a 1-1 pitch out to right for his eighth homer of the season.

After Kansas City got a run back in the bottom of the eighth, Cleveland tacked on three more in the ninth -- two of the runs scoring on a double by Asdrubal Cabrera.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels 3, Cleveland 0

Cleveland, Aug. 19: Jered Weaver bounced back from his worst outing of the season to throw a seven-hit shutout Wednesday, giving the Los Angeles Angels a 3-0 win over Cleveland.

It was the second shutout and fourth complete game of Weaver's four-year career.
The Angels, who began action Wednesday with a 5 ½-game lead over Texas in the American League West, won their fifth straight.

Weaver (13-4) survived only 3 1/3 innings in his previous start against Baltimore Friday, giving up eight earned runs, nine hits and four walks. It was his shortest outing in more than a year.

Although he allowed the Indians seven hits, Cleveland did not have more than one runner on base in any inning.

MLB: Cleveland 6, Chi. White Sox 2

Chicago, Aug. 7: Kelly Shoppach hit his eighth and ninth homers of the season Friday in Cleveland's third straight win -- a 6-2 decision over the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago slipped three games behind Detroit in the battle for the lead in the American League Central.

Shoppach produced a two-run shot in the second that gave the Indians a 3-0 lead and hit a solo homer in the fourth that put Cleveland in front 5-2. He also drove in the final run of the game with a sixth-inning single.

The Indians won for the 10th time in 14 outings, but remain 11 1/2 games out of the division lead.

MLB: Chicago White Sox 10, Cleveland 6

Chicago, July 8: Paul Konerko smacked three home runs Tuesday, including a grand slam in the sixth inning, to carry the Chicago White Sox past Cleveland 10-6.
