Jennifer Lopez tops People’s annual list of ‘Most Beautiful Woman’

Entertainment icon Jennifer Lopez seems to have added another feather to her hat. After carving a name for herself in music, fashion and Hollywood she now holds People Magazine’s honor of ‘Most Beautiful Woman in the World’.

J. Lo named Boys & Girls Club spokeswoman

New York -- Jennifer Lopez has been named the first spokeswoman for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the organization said Monday.

She joins 18-year veteran Denzel Washington as a celebrity face of the group.

The stars are to join clubs President Roxanne Spillett in speaking to reporters about the merits of the organization Tuesday at Nokia Plaza in Los Angeles.

White set for 'Fascinating' special

New York -- Kate Middleton, Justin Bieber and Betty White appear on Barbara Walters' list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year, America's E! News said.

Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, the cast of "The Jersey Shore," LeBron James and Sarah Palin also made the roster.

The top two people's names won't be revealed until Walters' special airs Dec. 9 on ABC, E! News said.

Lopez, Tyler confirmed as 'Idol' judges

Los Angeles-- Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are to be judges on "American Idol" when the singing competition show returns for its 10th season, it has been announced.

"Idol" judges Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi left the show last season. Randy Jackson, the only original judge left on the show, is to return for Season 10, alongside Lopez and Tyler.

Asked how he felt about his new job, MTV.com quoted Tyler as saying: "Fabulous. Wonderful. Feels like the perfect feathered nest."

"It's being a part of something much bigger than yourself," he added. "I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster and show you that if you got the heart, you got the talent and you got the feeling to do this, you could be the next 'American Idol.'"

Report: Lopez, Tyler to be 'Idol' judges

Los Angeles -- Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are to replace Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres as judges on "American Idol," TMZ said.

DioGuardi was fired from the post and DeGeneres announced Thursday she had quit, the Web site said.

The casting changes mean the show is going back to a three-judge format and Randy Jackson will be the only holdover from the cast when the singing competition series returns for a 10th season.

Simon Cowell was the fourth judge, but left at the end of Season 9 to executive-produce and eventually star in another talent show, "The X Factor."

J. Lo scraps planned N. Cyprus concert

New York -- Jennifer Lopez's publicist says the U.S. pop star and actress has canceled a planned performance in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus.

Multiple Greek and Cypriot politicians urged Lopez this week to scrap the July 24 gig, which was to take place in a territory neither the United Nations nor the European Union recognize as an independent sovereign state, TMZ noted.

New York watches Puerto Rican Day parade

New York -- Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez were among the nearly 2 million people at New York's 53rd annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade, officials say.

The city's largest parade Sunday saw Anthony replace actor Osvaldo Rios as "international godfather" after Rios' domestic violence conviction against his girlfriend, the New York Daily News reported.

Some elected officials allegedly said they would not attend the parade unless Rios quit, which he did Tuesday.

New city statutes limit parades to five hours and shorten their routes by 25 percent in a move to save $3.1 million in police overtime and other city expenses, the newspaper said.
One reveler wasn't put off by the shortening of the parade, the Daily News said.

J. Lo in talks for 'Overboard' remake

Los Angeles -- Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is up for the female lead in the remake of the 1987 romantic comedy "Overboard," sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

The original movie starred Goldie Hawn as a hard-to-please rich woman who falls off her yacht and suffers from amnesia. Kurt Russell played a carpenter she treated badly who seeks revenge against her by convincing her she is the mother of his four rambunctious sons.

While Lopez is in the running for the Hawn role, no actor has been mentioned to play Russell's character in the new version.

The Hollywood Reporter said Adam Cooper, Bill Collage and Leslie Dixon wrote the script and Will Smith is producing the remake with his Overbrook partner James Lassiter.

Madonna to launch own fashion line called 'Material Girl'

Pop-star Madonna is soon going to launch her own fashion line. The singer, along with Iconix Brand Group, has uncovered a joint venture to launch a collection of junior’s apparels.
