NHL: Los Angeles 2, Calgary 1

Los Angeles -- Jamie Quick took a shutout deep into the third period and made 27 saves Thursday in boosting Los Angeles to a 2-1 victory over Calgary.

Quick, making his 138th NHL appearance, came within 3:21 of recording his 10th career shutout.

Kyle Clifford tipped in a shot by Wayne Simmonds midway through the first period and Anze Kopitar scored on a power play 5:10 into the third.

Kopitar's goal became the game-winner when Olli Jokinen spoiled Quick's shutout bid by tipping in a shot on the power play.

The Kings won their third straight. Los Angeles started the season with a 12-3 record, then lost seven of eight before embarking on its current streak.

Miikka Kiprusoff took the loss, stopping 30-of-32 shots.

NHL: Los Angeles 5, Phoenix 3

Los Angeles -- Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll each had two goals Saturday to lead the Los Angeles Kings past the Phoenix Coyotes 5-3.

Wayne Simmonds chipped in what proved to be the game-winner in the third period for the Kings' third consecutive win.

Shane Doan scored two goals for Phoenix and Radim Vrbata added the other.

Jamie Quick made 30 saves for Los Angeles while Ilya Bryzgalov notched 16 for Phoenix.

After Simmonds scored at 9:12 to put the Kings ahead 4-2, Doan tallied at 12:30 to pull the Coyotes to within one.
