Dodgers CFO: Jamie McCourt knew of risks

Los Angeles -- A Los Angeles Dodgers official, contradicting Jamie McCourt's testimony, said Monday McCourt knew buying the team would be a risky investment.

Dodgers Chief Financial Officer Peter Wilhelm testified at the Los Angeles divorce trial of Jamie McCourt and her estranged husband, team owner Frank McCourt. Wilhelm said he had heard Jamie McCourt tell Frank McCourt she had concerns about buying the money-losing team, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Court battle over Dodgers continues

Los Angeles -- The couple battling over ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers failed to settled their differences in a marathon mediation settlement, a court officer says.

Allan Parachini, public information officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court, said Frank and Jamie McCourt did not plan to negotiate during the weekend, the Los Angeles Times reported. The couple and their lawyers spent 10 hours at the courthouse Friday.

The couple's divorce trial enters its third week Monday.

Frank McCourt argues he is the sole owner of the National League baseball team, based on a 2004 agreement. Jamie McCourt argues the agreement is invalid and that the Dodgers are community property.

If Jamie McCourt wins, the team would probably be sold.

McCourts begin divorce fight over Dodgers

Los Angeles -- The owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers began divorce proceedings with ownership of the baseball team at the center of their dispute, documents show.

Frank and Jamie McCourt's unseemly public punch-up, begun in Los Angeles Superior Court Monday, is a he said/she said battle over whether a post-marital agreement signed in 2004 by both parties is valid, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Frank McCourt wants it enforced; his wife does not. The agreement says Frank McCourt is the sole owner of the Dodgers and Jamie is the sole owner of the couple's homes.

Jamie McCourt says she signed the agreement without reading it and would never knowingly sign away her right to the Dodgers.

Mavs owner would consider buying Dodgers

Los Angeles -- Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, said Monday he would be interested in buying the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cuban told the Los Angeles Times he has been urged by many Dodgers fans -- "more than I can count" -- to acquire the National League franchise. However, the team is not for sale, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt had said.

McCourt's estranged wife, Jamie McCourt, maintains she is a co-owner of the Dodgers and has said she would put together an investor group in a bid to buy out Frank McCourt. He insists he is the sole owner of the franchise.

McCourts begin Dodgers custody battle

Los Angeles -- Jamie McCourt is seeking to void an agreement that may block her from claiming a piece of the Los Angeles Dodgers in her divorce, court documents indicated.

Jamie McCourt, who formally filed for divorce from Dodgers owner Frank McCourt Tuesday, contended the agreement they signed in 2004 naming Frank McCourt sole owner of the Dodgers was invalid and unenforceable.

Frank McCourt responded with documents he contends trump California's community property laws, which would give his estranged with a 50 percent stake in the team.
