London -- James Blake, Anna Calvi, Daley, Esben & the Witch, and Jessie J are among the nominees for the BBC's Sound of 2011 distinction, the British broadcaster said.
Also long-listed for the new-act prize are Clare Maguire, Mona, The Naked & Famous, Nero, Jai Paul, The Vaccines, Warpaint, Jamie Woon, Wretch 32 and Yuck.
The Sound of 2011 winner and Top 5 rising stars will be announced next month, the BBC said.
Last year's winner was Ellie Goulding.

Stockholm-- James Blake used a late break Tuesday in posting the third upset of the day in first-round play at the Stockholm Open tennis tournament in Sweden.
Blake posted only his second service break of the match in the ninth game of the third set but made it stand for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over seventh-seeded Thomaz Bellucci. Bellucci took the first set behind a pair of breaks but Blake saved all four of the break points he faced the rest of the way.
Sixth-seeded Feliciano Lopez and No. 8-seeded Tommy Robredo also fell Tuesday.
Robredo was dumped by qualifier Ivan Dodig 6-3, 6-2 in just 64 minutes. Dodig won 60 percent of the points in the match.

Los Angeles -- James Blake of the United States won for the first time since March, beating Argentine Leonardo Mayer in the first round of the Farmers Classic in Los Angeles.
Blake, who returned to tennis last month after a knee injury, beat Mayer 6-1, 6-4, in 65 minutes.
Blake won three of his 10 break point chances and prevailed in all five of the breaks he faced on serve.
"I went into the match with the goal of just controlling my side of the court and playing with the right kind of energy," he said.
Also advancing to the second round Tuesday were American Robbie Ginepri, who beat Serbia's Ilija Bozoljac 6-3, 6-4.

Key Biscayne, Fla. -- James Blake lost a first-set tiebreak Wednesday but rallied to defeat Filip Krajinovic and reach the second round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
Blake battled for 2 hours, 13 minutes to eliminate Krajinovic 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-4 and earn a matchup against No. 27 seed Thomaz Bellucci.
David Nalbandian, who once climbed as high as No. 3 in the world, also reached the second round by disposing of Lukasz Kubot 6-3, 6-2. This is the third tournament of the year for Nalbandian, who underwent hip surgery last season. He will face 30th-seeded Viktor Troicki in the next round.
Taylor Dent advanced with a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Rainer Schuettler, earning him a meeting with Rafael Nadal, the fourth seed.

Brisbane, Australia, January 8 -- Andy Roddick will not be a part of the U.S. Davis Cup team this year. The American has pulled out of the tournament to avoid any serious damage to his previously injured knee.

Brisbane -- James Blake came back from a set down Tuesday and posted a first-round upset win over Sam Querrey in the Brisbane International tournament in Australia.
Blake had his serve broken just once in 15 games in the 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Querrey, who was seeded fifth. Blake won 54 percent of the points but service breaks in each set proved to be the difference in the tight match.
Sixth-seeded Jurgen Melzer was also ousted, losing 7-5, 6-1 to Matthew Ebden in just more than an hour. Ebden has 12 aces and won all but eight points in 10 service games.

POREC, Croatia, July 12 (UPI) -- Marin Cilic beat James Blake in four sets Sunday, sending Croatia to the Davis Cup semifinals and eliminating the United States team.
Cilic's 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win gave Croatia an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five quarterfinal competition. A later match had no bearing on the final result.
The Croatian star had earlier defeated American Mardy Fish. Blake's loss was his second of the weekend, having fallen Saturday to Ivo Kalovic.
Croatia will clash with the Czech Republic team in the semis in September, The Czechs advanced Sunday with a 3-2 win over Argentina.
The Croatian team is in the semifinal round for the first time since it won the cup in 2005.

White Plains, N.Y. -- The United States will field a team of Andy Roddick, James Blake, and doubles specialists Bob and Mike Bryan in the Davis Cup quarterfinals in Croatia.
Roddick is ranked sixth in the world and Blake is 17th. The Bryan brothers hold the No. 1 world ranking among doubles teams.
"Our guys have once again answered the call and are ready to accept the challenge of representing their country on the road under tough conditions," said U.S. captain Patrick McEnroe. "We are bringing our most experienced group to battle against a talented Croatia team and hope that can make the difference."

Eestoril, Portugal. -- Albert Montanes of Spain beat a tired James Blake in three sets Sunday to capture the men's Estoril Open tennis title in Estoril, Portugal.
The scores of the nearly 2 1/2 hour match were 5-7, 7-6 (7-6), 6-0.
Montanes, the seventh seed, saved two match points at 4-5 in the second set and blitzed the fourth seed in the third.
Montanes also saved a match point against top-seeded Gilles Simon of France in a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) quarterfinal victory on Friday.
He is the first player to save at least one match point in two different matches in Estoril.

Rome -- Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka advanced but American James Blake was eliminated Monday in the first round of the $3.645 million Italian Masters in Rome.
Wawrinka, who lost in the 2008 final to Novak Djokovic, defeated Russian Igor Kunitsyn 6-3, 6-4 Monday. Blake lost to Romanian Victor Crivoi 7-5, 6-2.
The only other seed who won Monday was Croat Marin Cilic, who beat Italian Flavio Cipolla 6-2, 6-2.
A match between Spaniard Tommy Robredo and Russian Marat Safin was postponed until Tuesday because of rain. Six matches were either suspended or postponed due to Monday's rain.
Sixteen first-round matches and three second-round matches are scheduled for Tuesday.
