Vikings, waiting for Favre, sign Jackson

Minneapolis -- The Minnesota Vikings, waiting on a retirement decision by Brett Favre, have re-signed back-up quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, the team said Monday.

The team didn't reveal the terms of the deal, but the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune reported the contract for Jackson, a restricted free agent, is for the tender amount of $1.2 million for one year.

Jackson didn't see much action last year as Favre led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game. He completed only 14-of-21 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown while appearing in eight games.

Vikings Coach Brad Childress has said the team won't pressure Favre, 40, into making a decision on returning for another season.
