April 8, 2009- According to a comprehensive study of the Apple App Store by comScore, games have become the fastest growing and most popular type of application among users of both the iphone and the ipod touch. The study measured total number of users who had installed application and also the number who had only downloaded it at given time.

Apple’s three of the top five selling applications are games which includes Tap Tap Revenge, Touch Hockey: FS5, and Pac-Man.

Brian Jurutka, vice president of comScore said in a statement, "It's impressive that a game like Tapulous's Tap Tap Revenge can attract a higher penetration among Apple app users than apps for larger and more established brands."
