Toronto, Aug. 24: Carlos Pena put Tampa Bay in front with a two-run homer in the fifth Monday and the Rays went on to down Toronto 12-7.

Tampa Bay overcame an early three-run deficit with a 15-hit attack, most of it coming against Toronto ace Roy Halladay (13-7) -- who had his worst outing of the season, giving up eight runs and 12 hits with eight strikeouts over six innings. The 12 hits tied his career record high.

MLB: Detroit 4, Baltimore 2

Detroit, Aug. 5: Edwin Jackson shut out Baltimore through eight innings for the second time this season Wednesday, and Detroit held on in the ninth to beat the Orioles 4-2.

Jackson, who had worked eight innings against Baltimore in a 3-0 win May 31, took a shutout into the ninth Wednesday. He then hit Nolan Reimold with a pitch leading off the final inning, and Adam Jones homered to left for Baltimore's fourth hit of the game.

Fernando Rodney replaced Jackson and put two runners on base before striking out Gregg Zaun to end the game. Rodney picked up his 22nd save.

Jackson ((8-5) won for the first time since July 10, though he had not allowed more than three runs in any of his three starts since.

MLB: Baltimore 10, Chicago White Sox 2

Chicago -- Gregg Zaun hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs Sunday, leading the Baltimore Orioles to a 10-2 rout of the Chicago White Sox.

Zaun, who finished with three of Baltimore's 11 hits, capped a four-run ninth with his fourth homer of the season.

Luke Scott had two RBI, Nolan Reimold and Cesar Izturis had one RBI apiece, two runs scored on wild pitches and Aubrey Huff had two hits for the Orioles, who averted a three-game sweep.

MLB: Baltimore 5, Seattle 3

Seattle, July 8: Ty Wigginton put Baltimore in front with a two-run single during a five-run ninth inning Wednesday, rallying the Orioles to a 5-3 victory over Seattle.

Seattle's David Aardsma (2-3) came on in the ninth to protect a 3-0 advantage and gave up the lead before he could record an out. Two errors by Mariners second baseman Jose Lopez made two of the ninth-inning runs unearned.

Melvin Mora opened the inning with a double, Gregg Zaun walked and Oscar Salazar singled to load the bases.

Adam Jones then drove in a run with an infield single and Nick Markakis reached on a costly fielding error by Lopez. That miscue accounted for the second run of the inning and kept the bases loaded.
