Gossip girl bosses: 'Duff diva reports are false'

TV bosses have moved swiftly to deny reports actress Hilary Duff has held up production on Gossip Girl with a number of demands.

The 21 year old is currently in New York City filming episodes as a guest star on the hit TV teen drama, in which she plays a movie star who enrols in a university with Vanessa, played by Jessica Szohr.

Rumours swirled that Duff had infuriated the show's cast after refusing to leave her trailer as the others waited to film near Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighbourhood, causing a massive delay in shooting.

A source claims, "No one could believe they would actually hold up taping for her. Nobody in the cast behaves like that.

Hillary Duff said set for 'Gossip Girl'

Los Angeles -- U.S. actress and pop singer Hillary Duff will appear in several episodes of the CW Network show "Gossip Girl" this fall, sources say.

Duff's multi-episode story arc will begin with the show's fourth episode of the 2009-10 season, set to air Oct. 5, unnamed sources told Entertainment Weekly Wednesday.

In the story, Duff will portray a movie star who's taking classes at New York University and ends up rooming with Jessica Szohr's Vanessa character, the magazine said.

Duff reportedly had time in her schedule to appear in "Gossip Girls" when NBC turned down her comedy show pilot, "Barely Legal."

'Gossip' to feature No Doubt performance

New York -- The ska-pop band No Doubt says it will perform on an upcoming episode of the U.S. TV teen drama "Gossip Girl."

The band said on its Web site that it will perform the song "Stand and Deliver" by Adam and the Ants on the May 11 episode of the popular CW drama, reported Friday.

The May broadcast will mark the first time No Doubt has attempted the 1981 hit for a performance.

No Doubt's attempt at the '80s song will mark the most recent unusual musical offering on the popular series, noted. The CW series previously had The Section Quartet, a Los Angeles string quartet, play a hit from the rock band Muse. "Gossip" also has offered viewers a version of pop singer Fergie's "Glamorous" as imagined by the Constance Billard girls' choir.
