MLB: Minnesota 4, Chicago White Sox 3

Minneapolis, July 27: Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning Monday to pace the Minnesota Twins to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Glen Perkins (6-6) got the win after working seven innings and giving up three runs on six hits.

Joe Nathan pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his 27th save.

Denard Span had a triple for the Twins.

John Danks (8-7) took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits in seven innings.

Paul Konerko had a two-run homer and Gordon Beckham had a solo shot for Chicago.

MLB: Minnesota 5, Texas 3

Arlington, Texas July 17: Jason Kubel put Minnesota in front with a three-run homer in the second Friday and the Twins went on to down Texas 5-3.

Glen Perkins (5-5) survived five innings to get the win and Texas could not produce a run against four Minnesota relievers. Joe Nathan worked the ninth for his 24th save.

Josh Hamilton gave Texas the lead with a two-run homer in the first, but Carlos Gomez tied it with a two-run triple in the second.

Joe Mauer delivered a one-out single in the third off Vicente Padilla (7-5) and Justin Morneau doubled Mauer to third. Kubel then hit the decisive blow of the game, a homer to right on a 1-2 pitch.

Kubel's 15th home run of the year gave the Twins their second straight win.

MLB: Minnesota 5, Kansas City 1

Kansas City, Mo. -- Glen Perkins gave up just one run despite 10 Kansas City hits Wednesday, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 5-1 win over the Royals.

The run against Perkins (4-4) scored on Jose Guillen's one-out, sixth-inning single.

Michael Cuddyer had two RBI with a second-inning solo homer and a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. Joe Mauer had three hits and one RBI.

A run scored on Alberto Callaspo's third-inning error, while Denard Span
added a run and two hits for the Twins, who have won five of seven overall.
The Twins helped themselves by turning three double plays.

MLB: Minnesota 8, Pittsburgh 2

Minneapolis, June 16: Joe Mauer was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI Tuesday to help the Minnesota Twins post an 8-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Glen Perkins (2-3), activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game, gave up two runs on seven hits in six innings for his first victory since April 19.

Joe Crede, Delmon Young, Carlos Gomez, Justin Morneau and Nick Punto each had an RBI for the Twins, who have won three of their last four games, all in inter-league play.

Pittsburgh's Paul Maholm (4-3) gave up eight runs on 14 hits in five-plus innings. Nyjer Morgan drove in the Pirates' two runs with his first homer of the season.
