Phoenix -- Infielder Geoff Blum was given a two-year deal by the Arizona Diamondbacks Monday.
The National League club didn't say how much it will pay Blum, who hit .267 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 93 games for the Houston Astros last season. He's a .251 career hitter in 12 big-league seasons.
His 11 pinch-hit RBI were the fourth best in the league, while his 14 pinch hits in just 42 pinch-hit at-bats were tied for seventh in the league.
Arizona General Manager Kevin Towers said Blum was brought in to give Manager Kirk Gibson more flexibility.

Denver -- Geoff Blum drove in five runs Wednesday and Houston came within one hit of equaling a franchise record while outslugging Colorado 15-11.
After being overwhelmed by the Rockies 12-1 on Tuesday, the Astros produced 24 hits against five pitchers. The team record of 25 hits in a single game was established in 1976, a season in which the Astros achieved the feat twice.
Houston won for the fourth time in five outings, with every starter -- including pitcher Mike Hampton -- having a multi-hit game. The Astros scored three times in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings and recorded their huge offensive night without the benefit of a home run.
