Newark, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets said Monday they will donate $75,000 to a fund benefiting paralyzed Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand.

Farrow is scheduled to visit Kotido in the northeastern region of Karamoja where children face violence caused by local tensions.

Brussels -- A fund that would buffer European countries against Greece's debt crisis should be ready by Monday's trading session, a European Union official said.

The proposal, expected to raise about 70 billion euros ($89 billion), will be presented to the Council for the European Stabilization Mechanism "to preserve financial stability in Europe," the European Union said.

If, after 2008, you still expect the stock market to fund your retirement, most people probably consider you a few congressmen short of a bailout. (Zing!) Yes, it was tough being openly optimistic after a year in which every bull became a steer.
