MLS: Seattle 2, Dallas 1

Seattle -- Freddie Ljungberg set up both goals in Seattle's 2-1 win over FC Dallas Saturday.

The loss eliminated Dallas from the MLS playoff race while Seattle settled into second place in the Western Conference with one day left in the regular season.

The win gave Sounders coach Sigi Schmid the MLS record for career wins with 125.

He broke the record that had been held by U.S. national team skipper Bob Bradley.

Seattle scored a pair of goals in the second half after Dallas took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute on Atiba Harris' goal.

MLS: Seattle 2, Houston 1

Seattle, July 11: A goal by Patrick Ianni in the 46th minute Saturday gave Seattle Sounders FC a 2-1 Major League Soccer win over Houston.

The defender's first goal this season, and the second in his MLS career, came on a bicycle kick seconds into the second half, snapping a 1-1 tie. It helped the expansion Sounders (7-3-7) extend their MLS unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2).

They moved within three points of the Dynamo (9-4-4), who sit atop the Western Conference.

Brad Davis scored to put Houston up 1-0 in the 12th minute, but Fredy Montero scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute, setting the stage for what would be the game-winner by Ianni.

MLS: Seattle 3, D.C. United 3

Seatitle, June 18: Seattle's Tyrone Marshall put the ball into his own net in the 87th minute Wednesday, allowing D.C. United to tie the Sounders 3-3.

United faced a 3-1 deficit in the second half before Christian Gomez scored in the 63rd minute. Marshall then made the costly mistake that boosted United two points ahead of Chicago for the lead in the Eastern Conference.

Chris Pontius gave United the lead in the 34th minute, but Seattle then scored three straight times -- one of the tallies also coming on an own goal by United's Marc Burch.

That gave Seattle a 2-1 lead in first-half stoppage time, after which Fredy Montero scored his sixth goal of the season in the 57th minute to give the Sounders a two-score lead.

MLS: Seattle 2, San Jose 1

Seattle, June 14: Goals by Freddie Ljungberg and Fredy Montero Friday gave the Seattle Sounders FC a 2-1 MLS victory over San Jose, ending a six-game winless streak for Seattle.

Ljungberg opened the scoring, capitalizing on a Quakes' turnover in the 42nd minute. Montero scored a little more than 15 minutes later off a feed from Patrick Ianni.

San Jose'sa Darren Huckerby wrapped up the scoring with his first goal of the season.

The Sounders (5-3-5) are third in the Western Conference. San Jose (2-8-3) is in last place in the West.
