Cincinnati, July 31: Chris Iannetta and Carlos Gonzalez hit homers on consecutive pitches in the eighth inning Friday, lifting the Colorado Rockies to a 5-3 victory over Cincinnati.

The Reds, fast fading from contention in the National League Central, lost their fourth in a row.

Colorado never trailed, but saw the Reds rally to tie it in the sixth on solo homers by Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips. It was the 16th homer of the year for both players.

David Weathers (2-3) came on for Cincinnati with the score knotted at 3-3 in the eighth and he quickly got two strikes on Iannetta. After working the count full, Iannetta homered to left-center to give the Rockies the lead. He also contributed a sacrifice fly in the third.

All three San Diego hits came off Ubaldo Jimenez (7-9), who struck out 10 over seven innings. Franklin Morales and Huston Street combined to work two perfect innings, with Street earning his 23rd save.

Josh Geer (1-5) started for San Diego and retired leadoff man Dexter Fowler in the first on a failed bunt attempt. Barmes then put Colorado in front for good by hitting a homer in his second straight game.

A bases-loaded single by Chris Iannetta in the third added two runs and Ian Stewart had a two-run double in the fifth.
