Report: Fergie on verge of bankruptcy

London -- A financial adviser has told Britain's royal family that Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson may have to file for bankruptcy, sources tell The Sunday Telegraph.

The newspaper said Fergie's debts have piled up to the tune of 5 million pounds ($7.9 million) and that at least one palace financial adviser has concluded that filing for bankruptcy may be the only way out.

Despite the embarrassment of being the first senior royal to ever seek debt relief, the rationale is that a quick filing would head off an even bigger mess down the road.

"One key adviser believes the right thing is for the Duchess of York to go bankrupt," a palace source told the Telegraph. "He says it will be a weeklong wonder then everyone …will forget about it."

Fergie: 'I was in the gutter'

Los Angeles -- The Duchess of York says a tape of her offering a tabloid reporter access to former husband Prince Andrew of Britain for $750,000 is an "absolute horror."

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in Los Angeles aired Tuesday, Sarah Ferguson watched a 3-minute tape released last week of herself cutting a deal with the reporter from News of the World. The reporter set up the sting, asking Ferguson to introduce him to the prince, who works as a trade envoy, in exchange for cash. She was taped pocketing a $40,000 down payment.

"I was in the gutter at that moment," Ferguson said. She said she had been drinking at the time but was not drunk.

"I was not in my right place," she said.

Sources: Fergie regrets access offer

London -- Britain's duchess of York has regrets after being filmed in a tabloid sting allegedly offering access to Prince Andrew for money, sources told The Sunday Times.

The News of the World sting allegedly filmed the duchess, Sarah Ferguson, offering to sell access to her former husband for 500,000 pounds (about $723,500), the report said.

The duchess allegedly told a reporter posing as an Indian businessman that the huge payment would open doors, and was allegedly filmed sitting in front of a table with a large amount of cash, The Sunday Times said.

Black Eyed Peas to open for U2

Los Angeles -- Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie says her band will open for U2 at five U.S. shows.

The Peas frontwoman said opening for U2 would be a challenge, given the length and success of the Irish rockers' careers, InTouch reported online Friday.

"It's going to be amazing," Fergie said. "I remember going to see U2 in high school, so now to be on that stage, it's going to be challenging. We definitely have to bring it at those shows."

The dates and locations for shows the Black Eyed Peas will open were not reported.

Fergie says pregnancy not on her agenda

Los Angeles -- U.S. pop singer says she does not plan to get pregnant anytime soon, despite her recent marriage to actor Josh Duhamel.

"I'm not going to be because I'm going on tour," Fergie said Thursday while touring Project Angel Food operations in Los Angeles. "I wouldn't want to do that to the poor child."

Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, was taking the tour of the Los Angeles Center for Living program's operations as part of her new position as a Viva Glam girl for M.A.C. Cosmetics.

Ferguson told E! Online she is working with the M.A.C. AIDS Fund to draw attention to the potentially deadly disease.
